FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2019 59 Ping Pong Ping pong at Four Seasons is about three things… fun, friendship, and fitness. How do those three happen? Well, believe it or not, they just happen naturally as you hit a little ball with a mass of 2.7 grams (0.095 oz) and a diameter of 40 millimeters (1.57 in) back and forth over a net stretched across a table. However, if you need 12 more reasons to play ping pong, here they are… Neil, Mike, Mitchell, and Bob Jeannine, Perry, Lian, and Hailu Alex, Sally, Pete, and Sandy There you have it, 15 big reasons to play ping pong. Whether you are a long time player or a beginner, we would love to have you join us at the The Courts, Monday through Saturday anytime from 10 am to 4 pm. I was really out of it for the month of April. I had back surgery, and it went side ways on me. I am worse now after the operation. Well, at least I can still walk. Hard to believe that it is summer. June is the perfect time for fishing. It is just a matter of what kind of fish you want to catch and where you want to go to catch them. I want to talk a little about where to go fishing and about trying out new fishing spots that you have never been to. I plan to go to at least three new fishing spots that I have never been to. I found out that Wister in the Imperial Valley has a new fishing lake that is open to the public. They have planted bass and catfish; and, from what I have been told, it is a really good place to go and catch some nice size fish. Just Google Wister and you will get a number to call to find out all about this new lake. It was just opened in January of this year. I was told by a fishing friend of mine that a place called Reflection Lake in the city of Hemet is stocking some really nice size catfish. On Friday and Saturday you can fish at night, and we all know that the best time to catch catfish is when it gets dark. The third place I am going to try is off- shore at Oceanside. I have a fishing friend by the name of Lew who has a nice boat. We are going out to try catching some yellowtail and tuna. Summertime is the best time to go fishing in the ocean here in California. I will also take some party boats out and see if I can get into the epic bite that they sometimes get into. Going to new places and meeting people who fish there is always exciting for me. I am the kind of guy who will go right up to people and ask them how to catch the fish in a new place. I have never been disappointed because fishermen around the world talk the same language. I have never met a man or woman who fish that I did not like. Remember to stay safe while you are fishing, and tight lines to all my fishing buddies. I promise that your life will change for the better when you catch that 'fish of a lifetime.' ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@gmail.com and Diana Ali
