| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2019 | 11 Access Control Committee As we mentioned in last month's article, we continue to investigate two major issues that need the attention of both the residents and our visitors alike. One of those issues was that of updating the Main Gate to include a second barrier that would give better access control to the security folks over the entry of our visitors and guests. The other major issue that we are reviewing is how to slow down speeders within our community. We have two viable solutions: (1) We have already put forward within the last couple of years, e.g. demographics showing the volume of traffic not obeying the community's speed limit of 25 mph, and an example of radar equipment that would monitor anyone speeding with a view to imposing a "fine deterrent" system. That idea is under review by the BOD. A second option is to propose the installation of what are referred to as "Traffic-Calming" devices. These are simple, slightly raised speed humps (NOT speed bumps). They would be installed at strategic locations through-out the community. These speed humps (that vary in size) would be a constant reminder to folks passing over them to "slow-down." These devices pose no threat of injury or damage to occupants or vehicles. As mentioned in last month's article, these subjects are still under consideration. These are topics that you may wish to comment on, and that will help us to always keep our community safe and free from harm. Facilities Committee We are involved in many maintenance issues. Things break and need repair, such as entry gates and arms. Systems become obsolete and need to be upgraded, such as security cameras and the Ballroom audio/visual system. Four Seasons at Hemet was started in 2003 and completed in 2011. The Lodge opened in July of 2004 and since then, has been open and used year round. We are very fortunate to have many clubs, meals, dances, exercise classes and entertainment throughout the year in the Lodge and on the patio. The pool opened in 2004 and we are one of the few communities with our pool opened year round. Since we are an active community, our facility is showing wear and tear, even with all the maintenance. The great part is that dues have not gone up. What a blessing to have past and present Board of Directors, Committees and Management teams to have planned for the maintenance and upgrade of our facilities. Upgrades are being made and more are to come. We just did a rebuild of the pool pumps, filters and piping. The original layout was inefficient and the equipment was at the end of its economical life. The new installation layout is much better, easier to service and best of all, the equipment is new. The next visible project is replacement of the chaise lounges in the pool area. Research is being done and a recommendation to the Board should be soon. We are also researching a way to resurface the deck in the pool area to get rid of the stains. Thanks and have a great summer.
