28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2019 | Tennis Friends Whatever your "racket," tennis and pickleball are sports for a lifetime. Throughout the week, avid players are out on the courts enjoying the exercise, as well as the social and competitive aspects of the sports. With the two tennis courts and four pickleball courts located within the same fenced complex, many players are "switch" hitters, going from one sport to the other. Each sport is played and scored differently, but many of the basic shots are common to both: serving, volleying, lobs and drop shots. Players enjoy the camaraderie and challenge of playing the sports with a large group of friendly people. Tennis Friends make it a point to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions, while pickle ball players meet once a month for a potluck dinner and a friendly game of Sequence. Now that summer is here and the days are longer, come check out the action on the tennis and pickleball courts and meet some new people who may become friends for a lifetime. Tennis Friends schedule: Women's begins at 9 am, Monday and Friday; Men's begins at 8 am, Tuesday and Thursday; mixed-up doubles begins at 8 am, Saturday. Pickleball begins at 8 am, Monday, Thursday and Saturday and 6:30 pm, Monday and Thursday. Come join the fun! We play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon.
