On June 2 in the Overflow Parking
Lot the Oceanside Police Department
will be here from 9 to 10 am for a
drug drop-off event for disposal of
unwanted drugs that people might
have in their homes.
The Ocean Hills Pet Lovers Club
is proud to announce its very special
annual summer meeting/brunch on Sat., Aug. 10 at 10 am.
Along with the Pet Lovers Club members, the meeting will be open
to the OHCC Village Vets starting at 10:30 am to hear motivational
speaker Staff Sergeant Jason Morgan, coming in from Dallas, Texas
for the weekend
Staff Sergeant Jason Morgan served in the United States Air Force
as a member of an elite unit that provided meteorological and combat
support for special operations missions. He has participated in the
Military Paralympics (Warrior Games) for Team Air Force, trained
for, and competed in several long distance races, including the
Marine Corp Marathon. Although some days are more difficult than
others are, he never allows himself
to be a victim of his circumstance.
In this same spirit, his greatest
accomplishment has been raising
his three boys as a single father.
SSgt. Morgan is the best-selling
author of A Dog Called Hope: The
Special Operations Wounded Warrior
and the Dog Who Saved Him. SSgt
Morgan and his dog Rue have spoken all over the US, England and
Scotland. He is a national spokesperson for an organization that
pairs service animals with wounded veterans and has founded
Operation Renewed Strength, a non-profit organization that raises
money to benefit disabled veterans. Jason will have copies of his
book to sell and autograph.
Since we have to set up chairs for people wanting to attend, please
call or email PLC President Ellen Kippel as soon as possible to let her
