If you would like to join Village Line Dancers, dues are $10 per person, per year and $5 for each class. MEMBERS: Save the date, our Dinner and Line Dancing party, which was scheduled for July 8, is now Thurs., Aug. 15. Please consider helping with the party planning. Contact Valdene Ramrus VRamrus@cox.net for more information. Village Line Dancers Ocean Hills Dance Troupe One of the great things about dancing is that you get to listen to wonderful music at the same time. Music and dance naturally go together. As we prepare for a show (June 2020), we first pick a theme and then find music to fit that theme. Sometimes the music is current and it's from the past. The music we choose has to be choreographed for the appropriate dance genre. Once we get the music and the choreography, we have to learn the new steps, the step sequence, the positioning of the dancers, the hand motions, and of course the perfect costume. Yvonne Romano, our teacher for tap and jazz and show director, was inspired by the movie The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. Our opening number will be The Greatest Show, one of best songs in the score. Therefore, as we've been telling you every month, we are busy learning, practicing, and perfecting the new dances for our show. Since we have a circus theme, we are looking for people who might have some unique abilities - juggling, walking on stilts, etc. If you have a special talent, please contact Connie Perkins. Our club has many genres of dancing to tickle your dancing feet - tap, jazz, belly, and Hawaiian. If you are interested, please contact these people: If you are interested in Hawaiian dancing, please contact Valerie Thompson at valgene2@cox.net. If you are interested in Belly dancing, please contact Sharon Lair at sharonlair@cox.net. If you are interested in tap or jazz, please contact Connie Perkins at conniep7010@yahoo.com.
