| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2019 | 25 Paisano Club The Paisano Club will be hosting a Western Round Up on Fri., July 5. The South Clubhouse will be transformed by Peggy Knox and her team. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. The chuck wagon will be serving BBQ ribs, wings, Texas steak fries, baked beans, coleslaw, and all-American apple cobbler with ice cream. Johnny's Country Western will be performing for your dancing and listening pleasure! Grab your cowboy hats for an evening of country fun! June's Circus Under the Big Top was a huge success. Every month the South Clubhouse is artfully decorated! Dinner was deliciously prepared by Thomas Catering with everyone's favorites: burgers, hot dogs, corn nubs, fresh fruit and ice cream bars. We were entertained by Suave, a great three-piece band. A gentle reminder to our growing group, reservations are a must! Checks for our monthly event can be dropped off at 610 Torrey Pines Road (box by front door) or given to Carol Choisnet at the event for the next month's dinner. The South Clubhouse can only seat 105 people, and reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do have a wait-list for our events. If you need to cancel and would like to be reimbursed, you must do so one week prior to the event (the Friday before). If you need to do a late cancel, please call Jeri Wall by 3 pm the day of the event. She then can arrange for you to pick up your meal and she will be able to call the next person in line on the wait list. The only requirement to be a member is that you enjoy having fun, like to meet new people and have a hearty appetite! Don't worry about not knowing anyone, we will always seat you at a table with fun loving people and we will do our best to honor seating requests! Questions? On Sun., July 14, The Friendship Club presents Paul Boland, "The Man of a Thousand Voices." He is a singer/ impersonator/comedian who comes onstage with an incredible repertoire of voices and years of stage experience and improvisational skills. Boland electrifies audiences with his diverse array of celebrity impersonations that range from yesterday to today. He will amaze you with his spot on takes of Elton John, Randy Travis, Neil Diamond, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, and the entire "Rat Pack." He rocks the house with Mick Jagger, Sonny and Cher, the Bee Gees, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, and Ricky Martin. Comedy plays a large part in Boland's show. You'll love his comic take-offs of Barney Fife, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Travolta, Bill Clinton, Jerry Seinfeld, Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, Ray Romano, and many more. Tickets for all shows are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm, show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and deliver them to 5168 Rio Bravo Drive.
