26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2019 Looking for some outdoor exercise? We have many options to choose from, and summer in Four Seasons at Beaumont is the perfect time to enjoy them. The Community Guidelines list the rules for playing bocce ball, pickleball, tennis, horseshoes, and many other activities. Most require that participants wear non-marking tennis or court shoes and appropriate clothing. Proper etiquette must be maintained at all times and unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Staff members will give warnings and may file an incident report. When playing a game with a fence, hitting or throwing a ball directly into the fence is not permitted. Glass objects are not allowed and the area must be kept clean at all times. Court play time is on a first-come, first-served basis. Individual reservations may be made no more than one week in advance. Reservation time may be denied due to court time monopolization by any one resident. To make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to play, most games are limited in time if players are waiting. For example, tennis play time is limited to one and one half hours and bocce ball games are limited to one hour when players are waiting. Guests can participate but must be accompanied by a resident at all times. Group play has priority over individual bookings. The specific hours for groups can be found in the physical exercise schedule in each month's Breeze and on our community website www.fourseasonsbeaumont.org. More information on the rules for each activity is also located on the website. Four Seasons has many advanced players in all sports, but don't let that keep you from trying something new. Some groups offer beginner's classes. There is a tennis beginner's class every Saturday at 10 am and an intro to pickleball class on the second Tuesday of the month at 10 am. Even if there are no formal beginner's classes for the activity you want to try, most of the friendly and helpful people here will be happy to give you a few pointers. You can have fun, learn something new, and enjoy the beautiful outdoor surroundings of our community. The Rules & Regulations Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. If you are interested in serving the community by becoming a committee member, you will need to attend three meetings. Please join us! ~ Margie Chadburn, mjchadburn@aol.com Rules & Regulations committee
