A couple of months ago, many of you complained about having too much rain and cold weather. Well, summer is now here along with really hot temperatures of 90 to 100+ degrees everyday. The good news is the Performing Arts Club has Karaoke and a Radio Show scheduled for later this month. Both are FREE to attend, tickets aren't needed, and they're held in The Lodge Ballroom where it will be a very comfortable 72 degrees. So, come on over, beat the heat, and join us! Karaoke: Saturday, July 13 at 5:30 pm, in The Lodge Ballroom, FREE. If you want to have a lot of fun and be thoroughly entertained, come to Karaoke. You'll be amazed at how talented your friends and neighbors are. You might even want to give it a go yourself. Whether you're a novice or someone who loves to sing, the audience is always welcoming with their support and applause. In addition to the music, you can also let loose with some dancing. Radio Shows: Saturday, July 27; doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 6:30 pm, in The Lodge Ballroom, FREE. Tom Shelley, Producer, has put together a great two-part show for your enjoyment. One will be an episode of "Ozzie & Harriet" and the other is a return of one of our favorites, "The Lone Ranger." This is an opportunity to step back in time to the 1940s and 50s, when families gathered around their radio to listen to their beloved weekly serial shows. However, there is a little twist. Instead of duplicating an environment similar to listening to your radio, we're giving you the experience of being in the audience for the live performance. It will be complete with talented actors reprising the original roles. Plus, we have many fun hand-operated and electronic sound effects to further enhance your experience. To enjoy these shows to their fullest, I recommend closing your eyes and listening intently. You'll find yourself transported to a time over 60 years ago. Formerly called a Line Dance Sock Hop, we have changed the name to better reflect the fact that we do play more than just country music. We have some old favorites, some slow dances, some pop/rock, and even some music from the Heart & Soul class. So put your dancing shoes on and join us for a foot tapping fun evening. As usual, we will supply glasses, water, and ice. Buy your dinner from Smitty's or bring your own, and don't forget to BYOB. So please join us. We know your foot will start tapping to the beat of the music even if you don't dance. It is a fun evening and it is FREE and right here in our community. And of course, if you want to learn how to line dance or know how, but are looking to expand your dances, join us any Tuesday afternoon in the Ballroom. Please check the schedule in the Breeze for the appropriate time for your skill level. You will meet a wonderful, helpful group of people who simply love to dance. Any questions?
