FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2019 43 Step It Up Line Dancing In case you missed it, the Step It Up line dancers participated in the recent PG-55 show highlighted by our own Rich Wayne singing Runaround Sue for us to dance to. We had a lot of fun and great camaraderie! There were 14 Step It Up line dancers in the show of which 10 of them were relatively new beginner dancers and had never participated in a live performance like that. I was so proud of what a great job they all did! We will continue to dance to all types of music such as country, rock and disco with 'theme week' to various line dances every once in a while. Contrary to popular belief (and as we have seen from experience) line dancing works with all types of music. A new three-month class starts Monday, July 1 at 12:30 pm. This is the LD 101 class and it will be approximately 30 to 45 minutes. This is a true entry-level class. Then we move into the Step It Up class at 1:15 pm which consists of learning one or two new dances a week and reviewing dances we've previously learned. Because everyone is learning so fast it's no longer considered a beginner class. Any questions, please give me a call at (949) 326-3133. ~ Janine Rohrbacker Let's Dance Our Summer Fun Dinner and Dance Party is on Saturday, Aug. 3 in the Ballroom with music by American Made! Look for the poster in The Lodge lobby for ticket information. This is a very popular event, so plan to get your tickets as soon as possible. We are excited to announce our dance for July and August will be Country Western. Yes, we are devoting two months to learn many of the most popular CW dances such as Cowboy Cha Cha, Two Step, Cotton Eyed Joe, Ten Step, CW Waltz, The Barn Dance and Waltz Across Texas. We are encouraging all levels of dancers to come and stay for both classes! Cowboy boots are invited but not necessary to enjoy the dances. Reminder, we offer free practice sessions on most Thursdays at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Practicing with a group is best because we help and encourage each other. It's amazing how much more you will improve and retain by attending these free practice sessions. We hope to see you in the Ballroom on Monday nights. You will meet some great new friends and exercise your body and mind. The cost is $10 per person with our professional instructors. We welcome all levels to come at 6 pm and stay through 8 pm, if possible for the "full country western" experience in July and August… you will be glad you did! Also plan to bring a bottle of water for our breaks.
