FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2019 45 Women's Evening Bible Study We have religious freedom. We know that, but do we treasure it? In Christian communities around the world over 300 million believers are persecuted, imprisoned, and many are executed for their faith.(published in The Voice of the Martyrs magazine 2019). In July we will study intercessory prayer and the persecuted church. Please note that our days have changed for July only. We will fellowship together on Wednesdays, July 3 and 17 at 6:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. We welcome all women to our non-denominational study. We have been on a prayer journey since February, and this is our final lesson on prayer. We are growing in a more intimate relationship with God as we humble our hearts and worship and praise Him. I'm so thankful that I have the privilege and freedom to lead a women's Bible study. It brings me much joy. Come join in and give us the opportunity to pray for you. There is a sign-up sheet in The Lodge for more information. In September we will be celebrating our one year anniversary. It will be a wonderful time of fellowship, food and fun. Look for all the details in the August Breeze article. You don't want to miss it. "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord's praise, for he has been good to me." Psalm 13:5-6. At the meeting, founding member and president Dr. Zee Knapp announced that she would be stepping down from a position of leadership. In her place, long-time member Nancy Justice will be taking over as president. New residents Perry and Tammy Goldstein will be assuming the roles as co-vice presidents. Another change is coming to the club. The members have decided to change the club name. A new name has not been formally adopted yet. It is anticipated that the new name will be announced sometime later this summer. With all of the changes, we wanted to make sure and let everyone know that their most popular program, Trivia Night, will continue. It will take a break this summer, during the months of July and August, but will be back in full form in September. The Chavurah Jewish Club is open to anyone who is interested in attending, regardless of religious affiliation. For more information regarding the club's activities, please contact Nancy Justice or check out the monthly calendar on the activity board. There will be more big announcements for the club later this summer. For more information, contact Nancy Justice at at (909) 254-7718, or email her at 92223njustice@gmail.com. ~ Perry Goldstein Chavurah (Ha-Vu-Rah) Jewish Social Club Life Guide Bible Study We will be taking our summer break from June through Labor Day. We encourage regular participants to plan casual get-togethers during the break. We will email any prayer requests we receive as we continue to support each other in prayer. We will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 10. We meet in the third section of The Lodge Ballroom weekly at 7 pm. Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951)797-3302 or docletha72@gmail.com. ~ Doc Sellars This year we are studying the Epistles of Paul in the order he wrote them, where he was when he wrote them, the circumstances surrounding each epistle, and the meaning inherent in each verse of these letters. Having ended our study of the last chapters of Second Corinthians on June 14, we began studying the Book of Romans on June 21. We will study Romans through all of July to the first week in August. The members of "Believe…" Women's Bible Study are such amazing and knowledgeable women. The New Testament is particularly familiar to all of us, and since Paul wrote most of the books (13), we are delving deeper, studying Paul's life, his conversion, his dedication, his obstacles and challenges, his personality and his devotion to Christ. We began this year with a six-week series entitled "Changes." We determined what changes we needed to make in our lives, and then culminated with the extreme changes Paul made in his life after his conversion, which led us to his epistles. Our theme for this year is "Preach Christ… when necessary use words." And our goal this year is to reach another level in our individual study of the Word and, in turn, our relationship with God. If you are interested in joining this amazing group of Godly women, please come to the Game Room at The Lodge any Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 am. We will welcome you with open hearts and arms. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine; egcellent@msn.com "Believe…" Women's Bible Study Intercessory Prayer group Greeting intercessors, friends and neighbors! You are welcome to come and join us in prayer. Come and cast all of your cares, burdens, doubt, fears, or anything that is taking your focus off peace that will come when you are not carrying a heavy load on your shoulders. Come and bring your worries to the throne room. We will agree with you on all that concerns you. When you have peace, you are calm, quiet, still, you feel complete and whole. Think about the joy that comes when you are not worried. We meet in the Game Room at 9 am on the first Monday of each month. Our July meeting is July 1. Come and agree with us in prayer for our community, homes, family, and for all who work to make our community a place of enjoyment after retirement. Say this every day: "I am blessed." Why? Because you are. We are praying and standing in the gap for you. ~ Cookie Bonner; eaglewatchwb@aol.com
