FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2019 55 Ladies Putters Group The origins of golf are unclear and much debated. However, it is generally accepted that modern golf developed in Scotland. If you are interested, there is a Youtube video on "The history of golf in two minutes/open special." Here at Four Seasons, Judy Irving (President of our Putters Group) and her team have worked tirelessly to start and encourage new ladies to have fun on our course at the Courts Putting Green. There are two dates for playing; Monday at 6 pm and Friday at 9 am. You can choose one time or both, it's entirely your choice. All are welcome to try their skills and for their efforts every hole in one receives a new ball! There is no need to have played before, we are all in it for fun, and some are "in it to win it." Have no putter or ball? No problem,we have extras. After every series of games we have mid-year awards and a potluck. We held one recently at the Summit and everyone had a great time. So come along and give us a try, we know you will love it! If you have any questions regarding the Ladies Putters Group, please contact our President, Judy Irving, at (760) 610-9902. ~ Susan Wilson L-R: Phyllis Kates, Linda Long, Linda Gaylore, Claudia Rozzi, Judy Irving, Leona Davison, Lois White, and Jackie Morris. Photo taken by Susan Wilson Below: Hole in one putt challenge July comes complete with hot weather and an earlier start time for our club. We changed our start time to 8 am on June 12 and will remain so throughout the summer. In addition, we completed our second Quarter Tournaments, both singles and doubles the last two weeks of June; Doubles on June 19 and Singles on June 26. The results along with pictures will be announced in the August issue of the Breeze. Our June social was hosted by Dave and Suzanne Roldan, whose home was in the middle of a remodeling project, so they provided dessert following dinner at The Bistro. Our choice of three different pies was especially good. Our thanks go to Dave and Suzanne for their resourcefulness in making this happen under the circumstances. So, if you are new here or have been here awhile and looking for a real fun group of people to socialize with, come out and visit us at The Summit on Wednesdays at 8 am. Dust off that competitive nature of yours that you haven't exercised in a while and you'll enjoy it, guaranteed. A little secret, our wives enjoy being part of this group as much, if not more, than us horseshoe slingers do. Of course, the ladies are encouraged to play as well.
