The 8-Ball Club holds two in-house tournaments each month.
An 8-Ball tournament and a 9-Ball tournament. Most months
we play four additional tournaments. Two away and two at home
with Hemet (Solera) twice and Cherry Valley (Solera) twice.
In May, both in-house tournaments saw ten players playing for a
chance to add their names to the 8-Ball club plaque in the Billiards
Room. The 8-Ball tournament saw Robert Howard make it to the
final by winning matches against Rocket Spinosa, Ray Windhorn,
Larry Rice, and Jone Babin. Larry made it back through the loser
bracket to face Robert again. Larry won the first match but in
the match Larry broke without making a ball, Robert came to the
table and ran the rack to become May's 8-Ball champion.
The 9-Ball tournament found Larry Rice and Gary Christie in
the final match. As the witching hour approached (9 pm) the final
was rescheduled for the following Wednesday. Larry was able to
win the first two games of the two out of three matches to become
this month's 9-Ball champion.
The 8-Ball Club is always looking for new players. The club
plays or practices Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights 6:30 pm
until 9 pm. There is a calendar of our events in the Billiards Room
on the 8-Ball Club bulletin board. Come on out for the fun and
give us a try.
