44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2019 If you're looking for a fun and productive afternoon, please join us! We meet on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. You will make three beautiful cards all ready to mail. We make cards for all occasions. For the class you only need to bring your own glue and scissors; everything else will be provided, and the cost is $8. It is necessary to R.S.V.P. early in the week of the class so we will be sure to have enough kits for everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to call at (951) 849- 6336 or email! ~ Maryalice Chorba, chorbaparadise@yahoo. com Crafty Cardmakers Knit & Crochet Group We completed our project for the local women's shelter and turned in 16 blankets. Most everyone is now working on personal items, some even preparing Christmas gifts. A new project has not been discussed at this time as we are just enjoying doing our own thing. We are in the Arts & Crafts Room each Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 am. If interested, come check us out. ~ Dorothy Payne, dpayne001@dc.rr.com Craft Group The Craft Group has worked diligently for several weeks making reversible snowmen/scarecrows to add some cheer to the front of our homes during the fall/winter seasons. One side of each from Rosemary Ashcraft's and Barbara Paules' final product is shown in the photo. We meet on Thursday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. You are welcome to stop by any Thursday to see what we are working on and find out what we have planned for the future. If you would like to participate in a class, please call Barbara Paules (951) 845-3608 for a list of supplies you may need to bring or for any costs involved for materials. ~ Barbara Paules Quilting Enthusiasts We have such a great group of quilters. Last month we made 10 pillowcases to donate to Ronald McDonald house. The wonderful quilters were: Bonnie Makela, Mary Moody Cox, Sally Peterson, Pat Byrd, Jeri Sorensen and Mary Christelman. Also, thanks to Nancy Lilly for cutting all the fabric so we could quickly sew the project together. Next month we are going to make fabric baskets for the holidays. Sally Peterson shared her fantastic quilt made from her husband's ties! Pat Byrd shared her basketball themed quilt made for her lucky grandson. Jeri Sorensen made a beautiful Caribbean themed quilt. And Mary Moody Cox shared her placemats created with paper piecing. We learn so much from one another each month. Join us the first Sunday of the month at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. The room is also available each following Sunday for sit and sew. Several members have used the room to lay out quilts for designing. Please contact Mary Christelman at ferndalemary@gmail.com. ~ Mary Christelman Caribbean quilt by Jeri Sorenson Left: Tie quilt by Sally Peterson Above: Basketball/ sports quilt by Pat Byrd
