FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2019 39 Heart & Soul Line Dance We celebrated our ninth year of Heart and Soul Line dancing at Four Seasons Beaumont with our Red, White & Blue Soul Line Dance Explosion on July 6. We welcomed Heart & Soul dancers from Walnut, Pomona, Fontana, Rialto, Riverside, San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Riverside, and Menifee, as well as six instructors. We had a great time (as always). For those of you counting steps, can you let me know how many we completed? Thank you to all the helpers — Deborah, Tanya and Judy for setup; Deborah, Tanya, Minnie, and Shirley for setting up dessert; Judy, Lori, Mary, and Debbie for working the check-in table; Rox for the extra ice; and all those who helped with cleanup. These events cannot be done by one person — you are all AWESOME! And thank you to all the Beaumont dancers who came out to dance with us. Our next event will be our All White Soul Line Dance Party, Aug. 10, 1 to 5 pm in Menifee. Get more information in class. What's so good about line dancing? The dance floor becomes an equalizer; it doesn't matter where you come from, how much you make, how old or young you are, or whether you know the steps. You just get out there and lean on your fellow dancers. The crowd protects you. And if you don't get it the first time, you have a chance to do it all over again at the end of the sequence, when everyone turns to the next wall. The best thing about line dancing is that you don't need a partner to get out on the dance floor. Everyone benefits from the exercise, and line dancing is so much fun, it doesn't seem like exercise. It's a great stressbuster and it's liberating. At almost any line dance class, you will find that there are several dances suitable for people with limited mobility. I read a report that said that people who line dance could possibly live an extra 10 years. This may or may not be true, but it's certainly something to consider. Come join us on Wednesdays beginning at 4 pm. All the dance steps are broken down for you. Dance schedule: • Beginner - 4 to 5:15 pm • Intermediate - 5:20 to 6 pm No partner necessary, wear comfortable shoes (no flip-flops), and bring water. Need more information? We know how our many "listeners" look forward to our light- hearted trip back to yesteryear. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the show was canceled after the July Breeze went to press. The good news is that we are planning a new show that will happen on Sept. 7. Of course, our next big production is the Holiday Show on Dec. 7 and 8. Auditions were held in July, but if you have a burning desire to participate, please contact John Noonan, the producer. The theme is "A Country Christmas" and there will be songs by the Four Seasons Singers in addition to the show. If you are interested in joining the Singers, please see their article in this month's Breeze and contact Barbara Wasco, Director. This is the time of year when we are looking forward to the new year and the shows that we plan to produce. Participation in the creative process can be done in several ways: submit an outline of a show you would like to see produced; submit an act that you are willing to direct; submit an act that you would like to perform. Contact us for the forms to do this. We are also always interested in just hearing people's ideas of what they want to see performed and comments on the shows that we have performed. We players are nothing without an audience, and we really want to put on productions that are of interest. Anyone is welcome to come to our Performing Arts Club (PAC) meetings that are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4 pm. PAC is seeking assistance with improving our videos of our shows. If you have experience along this line please contact us. We are also always in need of stagehands and other backstage helpers. We train our volunteers to help in the various areas. Again, please come to one of our meetings if you're interested in helping make our shows a reality.
