60 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2019 Fishing Club Wow! Where did the summer go? I was having so much fun fishing that I let the time slip away. Tom, one of my fishing buddies, advised me to write about an incident that happened to me while I was fishing at one of our local lakes. I told him that I did not want to tell everyone at Four Seasons just how dumb I could be while I was fishing. He did convince me that an incident can happen to anyone, and the story should be told. With that said, here is the fishing story that I wish never happened. I was fishing for catfish at night at one our local lakes. I was using a lighted bobber so I could tell when I was getting a bite. For some reason my bobber slipped off my line and started rolling down the bank towards the lake. I chased after the bobber and even followed it into the lake. I was pulled out of the water by another fishing buddy named Matt. This is the first time that Matt had fished with me, and it turned out that fishing with him was a really great idea. I had my cell phone in my pocket and it was not made to go under water. I gave all the fish I caught that night to Matt because I figured that I owed him for pulling me out of the lake. I had also promised his wife that he would bring home fish. I have been fishing thousands of times and this is the first time I ever fell in the water. The message here is to be careful when you go fishing. Many great things can happen, but sometimes the unexpected can happen. I have had several people call me and ask about going fishing. I will take anyone fishing who really wants to go out and give it a try. My fishing buddies are always willing to teach new members how and where to catch fish. All you have to do is let me know what kind of fishing you would like to try. I had one guy call me and told me he had a bad back but he loved to fish. I informed him that we would go on a fishing trip that would not be too physical and that he should be able to handle without too many problems. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember to stay safe and sane when you are catching the fish of a lifetime. ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@gmail.com Tracy Maxwell, Terry Miller, and Dennis Boozer at Lake Hemet. Basketball Everyone is welcome. We meet at the basketball court Fridays starting at 5 pm. Bring your energy and be prepared to have some fun. ~ Richard Hoffman
