And there will be fears, no question. What if I go crazy? What if I die? What if I lose control? What if there's nothing but emptiness, loneliness, meaninglessness? What if… you name it, the ego self presents an amazing array of possible fears/outcomes, all in a vain attempt to perpetuate its illusory self. Notice this: the 'I' is an integral part of the 'what if ' question. It is the illusory 'I' that finds these obstacles to Self-Realization because it senses that it could go out of existence. But here's the good news… we repeat, the ego "I" is an illusion! An illusion doesn't exist in the first place, SO, there will be nothing to lose, nothing to fear and nothing will happen! We will retain our sanity; we will retain our body (until its natural dissolution); we never had control in the first place, and our fear of loneliness is just plain false! There has to be an ego to feel these things, but once the ego dissolves, there is the True Self that never dies. Someone may counter, "But, people have gone crazy." But, had these same people heard the Truth, heard that there's nothing to be afraid of, heard that the ego is an illusion, heard that the thinking and feeling illusory mind is what causes our problems… then armed with this teaching they would have countered the fears, moved into a relaxed and unworried state, in fact turned around and confronted illusion with Truth. Satsang (group meeting with a spiritual aim) begins with a 30 min. meditation (15 min. if new people are present) followed by a discourse and a short video presentation offered by a teacher adhering to the teaching of Non-Duality. As always questions are warmly encouraged. We meet in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room (next to the Library). Our weekly schedule is Sundays from 11:30 am to 1 pm. This is a FREE offering. My background includes 30 years of formal spiritual practice under the guidance of two masters and 10 years of teaching (eight at Sun Lakes). You need not bring anything except an Open Mind. My name is Gina and I can be reached at gina-sat@msn.com or (951) 846-1220 if you have further questions. Meditation: a pathway to truth
