Rehearsals for our fall show (Oct. 25 and 26) are underway. We will present Tiger's Tales, a night of original one act plays by Janet S. Tiger, a local playwright, who "… has written over 50 plays, screenplays, monologues and now books… which have been produced internationally… and are in popular anthologies in the United States and Canada." The production will be directed by Patricia (Trish) Moran Collins, a "professional director with a demonstrated history of working at all levels of theatre…" The entire 23-member cast is looking forward to giving you chuckles and tears. The A/V committee has contributed so much to the success of our programs. Let's make a concerted effort to at least have a working knowledge of what A/V does. General meetings are the first Monday at 7 pm in Abravanel Hall. We always have live entertainment. Although we are "dark" for all of August, the entire community is invited to see "Dances with Words," at our next general meeting on Sept. 2. This is "a unique concert that combines the talents of best- selling language author Richard Lederer and folk-singing humorist Bill Shipper. These two sparring punsters will perform Rich's educational word fun set to original music by composer, instrumentalist, and singer Bill Shipper. Come prepared to be entertained and edified by learning dressed up to have fun." This is a show you should not miss! Gail Burnett, a current member of the chorus, is grabbing hold of the reins and leading us forward. Gail has already chosen a beautiful selection of holiday music for us to learn. The Winter Concert will be one that you don't want to miss. The chorus rehearsal schedule starts Fri., Sept. 13 from 10 am to 12:15 pm with a 15 minutes break at 11 am. Our rehearsals take place in the Mykonos Room. We are also looking for volunteers to be Section Leaders. Contact anyone on the Choral Society Board to express your interest or to get additional information. Please join us on Sept. 13 if you would like to sing with us. You don't need to know how to read music, but have a song in your heart. Don't cringe at the thought of Friday the 13th!
