Actors' Workshop will be Mondays at 1 pm in the Men's Club Room. We're back and have space for new participants! Contact Sally Benton at Moki2@cox.net for details. Readers' Theatre is on the first Wednesday at 1 pm in the Men's Club Room. Sally Benton and Anita Simons advise that the readings include a variety of genres — and NO MEMORIZATION! Look for details of their October performance. Senior Moments Improv Troupe is on Mondays at 2 pm in Abravanel Hall. The next show promises to be a doozy! Stay tuned for details. Rehearsals for our fall show (Oct. 25 and 26) are underway. We will present Tiger's Tales, a night of original one act plays by Janet S. Tiger, a local playwright, who "… has written over 50 plays, screenplays, monologues and now books… which have been produced internationally… and are in popular anthologies in the United States and Canada." The production will be directed by Patricia (Trish) Moran Collins, a "professional director with a demonstrated history of working at all levels of theatre…" The entire 23-member cast is looking forward to giving you chuckles and tears. Please consider signing up for Audio Video Training Sessions, (every third Wednesday at 4 pm in Abravanel Hall. The next session is Aug. 14. The A/V committee has contributed so much to the success of our programs. Let's make a concerted effort to at least have a working knowledge of what A/V does. General meetings are the first Monday at 7 pm in Abravanel Hall. We always have live entertainment. Come and to find out what everyone else is talking about and see how much bang you get for your $10 annual dues. Although we are "dark" for all of August, the entire community is invited to see "Dances with Words," at our next general meeting on Sept. 2. This is "a unique concert that combines the talents of best- selling language author Richard Lederer and folk-singing humorist Bill Shipper. These two sparring punsters will perform Rich's educational word fun set to original music by composer, instrumentalist, and singer Bill Shipper. Come prepared to be entertained and edified by learning dressed up to have fun." This is a show you should not miss! Gail Burnett, a current member of the chorus, is grabbing hold of the reins and leading us forward. Gail has already chosen a beautiful selection of holiday music for us to learn. The Winter Concert will be one that you don't want to miss. The chorus rehearsal schedule starts Fri., Sept. 13 from 10 am to 12:15 pm with a 15 minutes break at 11 am. Our rehearsals take place in the Mykonos Room. We are also looking for volunteers to be Section Leaders. Contact anyone on the Choral Society Board to express your interest or to get additional information. Please join us on Sept. 13 if you would like to sing with us. You don't need to know how to read music, but have a song in your heart. Don't cringe at the thought of Friday the 13th!
