Ocean Hills Dance Troupe 18 | OHCC LIVING | SEPTEMBER 2019 | Why are these ladies happy? Well, it's a short story! Each of these lovely ladies joined the Ocean Hills Dance Troupe a short while ago and started tapping. Janet Lutmann, Margie Raisigel, Donna Buttler, Gloria Lipitz, and Anne Sage are some of our newest and most enthusiastic tappers. Even when the club took July off to rest our weary feet, these ladies went to practice to keep up their new skills. Talk about commitment! Margie said that although she had participated in other types of dancing, she had never considered joining the Dance Troupe. Then someone invited her to observe a lesson and she was hooked. She is enjoying learning the dance steps and choreography, but understands that it is a long term project with a lot to learn! She loves the energetic and devoted ladies. Donna said when she went to Do Dues Day she was very excited about our Dance Club. She took tap when she was younger for about 10 years, but hadn't picked up her tap shoes for almost 50 years. She always thought, "When I retire I'm going to tap like my friend's mother, Rita." She loves the exercise. She says she sweats more in this class than any other. She also loves all the sweet gals she's met and looks forward to much more tapping and more friendships. Gloria told us that she thought tap would be too hard. And besides, she was in other activities like aerobics, yoga and line dancing. People were encouraging her to join and she finally did! She really enjoys it. "Tap is the most challenging thing I do, but it's a very satisfying accomplishment." Marcia Ward (not in photo) shared that she loves how close and supportive her fellow tappers have become. She is proud to have started tapping at this time in her life. She said it is the best exercise and skill that she personally does at OHCC. She said, "Love it and the ladies!"
