62 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2019 The Billiards for Fun Group continues to be well attended by amazing players! We are so fortunate to have each and every one of our fabulous players exhibiting their billiard skills each week. It's so much fun to see the people who started just a few years ago, that are now able to sink the 8-ball on the break! (That, may I tell you, is a feat in itself ) All the players have sharpened their skills and talents, and enjoy the competition each week at either the 11 am or 1 pm session. As proof, check out the photos of Mike Fisher, Joy Collins, and Aaron Samuel who all exhibit intense concentration while making their shots. On Aug. 20 we held our third quarterly tournament of 2019. Yes, there were winners, and yes, they were happy. However, because the tournament was held after the deadline for this article, their pictures and commendations will be printed in the October issue. You can all applaud them with attendant standing ovations at that time. And yes, they all deserved their wins. If you are interested in participating in the game of billiards with some of the most fun people in Four Seasons, please come by the Billiards Room at The Lodge any Tuesday at 11 am or 1 pm (we have two sessions.) You can either observe or join in the fray. We welcome anyone who has always wanted to learn, and those that need to swipe the cobwebs from their pool cues. C'mon and give us a try! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine, egcellent@msn.com Billiards for Fun Wild Bunch Billiards The Wild Bunch 8-Ball Billiards Group is geared for those individuals who want to play competitively with those of their skill level. We started the new year with inviting the "best of the best" from Sun Lakes and Solera to play competition on Fridays, from 12:30 to 3:30 in our Billiards Room at Four Seasons. It has been a great success with the skill levels ranging from Level 4 to Level 7. The Wild Bunch consists of some of the best players in the league: Joe Spinella, Lucas Don, Bob Rector, Mike Corbett, Carlos Rivera, LeRoy Wright, Rocket Spinosa, and Gracy Luna. We will be having our Second Annual Wild Bunch Billiards Tournament on Friday, Oct. 25. We will be competing with Sun Lakes and Solera, playing 8-Ball in the morning and 9-Ball in the afternoon. The billiard tables are done! They have been recovered, with new pockets, new speed bumpers, and they are leveled correctly. The Wild Bunch 8-Ball Billiards Group was instrumental in getting this done, and everyone is enjoying playing on more competitive tables. If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to come by the Billiards Room and join in the stimulation of competitive play. We do not play with partners; we play one-on-one with an opponent of your skill level. We are always looking for those who want to play competitively and, who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team!
