President's Message
By Angela Takemoto
Hello everyone and welcome to October!
We held the September open meeting on
Sept. 16. During that meeting, I informed
the membership the Board met in Executive
Session that morning, and that one contract
had been approved in the meeting. That
was a proposal from San Diego Stormwater
Solutions in an amount of $3,765. This
is for annual maintenance of our storm
drains in accordance with City of Oceanside
regulations. We also reviewed the report and
recommendations from our arborist at Atlas
Environmental Services. As you know, every
year we contract with Atlas to perform an
assessment of all the Common Area tree, and
make recommendations regarding pruning
or removal, and suggest sites where new
trees could be planted.
Of the 2,754 trees inspected, the
recommendation was to prune 476 trees and
remove 18 dead or dying trees. The Board
accepted the recommendations and asked
staff to seek a bid from O'Connell Landscape
Maintenance to carry out the work.
Homeowners wishing to view the report may
do so by making a request at the HOA.
Among the items discussed and approved
at the regular Board meeting, we approved
some changes to the ARC guidelines in our
Handbook of Rules and Regulations. You
will be receiving a copy of these changes for
review. We also approved a recommendation
from the Golf Course Committee to install a
camera at the Golf Casa. This camera will be
used to inform golfers as to the condition of
the golf course via a stream to the Golf Club
website. And we approved the formation of a
new ad hoc committee to oversee the RV lot.
Committee members will be selected and
presented for Board approval.
We reviewed lots more, not included here.
You can review approved minutes of the
meeting on our website.
So that's it for this month. Hopefully we'll
see some cooler days, maybe even some rain!
And Happy Halloween.
