4 | OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2019 | By the time you read this, we are fully in the fall season and the holidays are fast approaching! We are very excited about working with the new Board of Directors, and express sincere congratulations to Angela Takemoto, Don Lopez, Jerry Gorman and returning Board member Greg Kusiak on this year's election! Of course, lots of work continues here, and following are highlights on some projects and other happenings within our Community. We had the two golf course architects on site mid- September for job walks and both firms are very excited about bidding the Golf Course Well Water Conversion & Upgrades Conceptual Design Project. It was quite interesting to see how the professionals view our golf course not only in terms of playability and safety, but also on how to get the water out of the well and onto the course for irrigation. The scope has provided a series of deadlines for interim submittals over the next couple of months for a final bid delivery expected in early December. We received three out of the four requested bids for the Clubhouse Renovations Project in September and look forward to evaluating the submittals and presenting to the Board for consideration in October. Considering the factors relating to existing clubhouse functions (the recent Annual Flea Market, and the City of Hope event on Oct. 12, arts & crafts event, the Woodchuck's toys event, and multiple holiday reservations), current projects (HVAC, and fumigation repairs) and contractor availability, a realistic project start date is expected to be sometime in January. We will provide updates on this project once contracts are signed and dates confirmed. Please note our security vendor Securitas has graciously agreed to host our next Shred Event. Start boxing up that old paperwork and we'll see you on Sat., Oct. 19 from 10 am to 1 pm! Have you noticed? A new portable digital speed sign has been installed and will be relocated regularly throughout OHCC. This will serve as a notice to residents, staff, guests, vendors and service providers that vehicle speed is being monitored while on-site. Also, please note that we've had 50 hearings in a two-week period for failure to make a complete stop, so please be sure to STOP at stop signs! Finally, I am very pleased to introduce Scott Lemieux to OHCC. Scott is the new Account Manager with Securitas USA and has been on-site for about a month. Scott has over 20 years of managerial experience across the military, Department of Defense and the private sector, specific to security-related matters. Prior to joining Securitas and OHCC, Scott spent 10 years on Active Duty and 8 years as a DOD employee managing security centric programs. After his time in government, Scott lent his experience consulting with other private communities relating to their security posture. Scott has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a graduate degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Scott can be found frequently at the front gate and around the community. Please join me in welcoming Scott to OHCC, and feel free to say hi when you see him! General Manager's Message By Wendy Panizza Scott Lemieux, the new Account Manager with Securitas USA
