30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2019 | Happy Thanksgiving! Each of you is in my thoughts and prayers during this holiday season. I am thankful for the time I had with loved ones who are no longer with me and for the ones that are still with me. I am especially thankful for the wonderful people I have met in the Caregiver Support Group. Our next meeting and support group is Thurs., Nov. 21 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This gives you more time for the support group. We are a Caregiver Support Group for all caregivers. You do not have to be caring for someone with memory loss. We are here for everyone! Every few months we have a guest speaker sharing their knowledge on topics that will be of interest to you. Come have a cup of coffee and see what our meetings are all about. We have a wonderful program for the patients in the Arts & Crafts Room. We have fun! We sing, dance and sometimes we play Bingo. Most months we have live music. In October, Ray Rendon entertained our patient group. We love the Sinatra songs that he sings so well. Thank you, Ray! Drop your loved ones off at the Arts & Crafts Room on your way to the meeting. We are a group of loving caregivers. We enjoy caring for your loved one so you can go to the meeting and not worry about them. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about memory loss, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane, (951) 769-0130, Doug, (360) 840-5559 or Anne, (951) 845-8700. Remember we are here to help. Caregiver Support Group In September we had our own Sun Lakes Notables perform for us. They are such a treat and have such a variety of musical combinations it is always new and wonderful. The whole group is the Notables and began with Route 66, the women performing are RazzMatazz and sang Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend and Dancing Queen, the men performing separately are Men of Note and sang a great Johnny Cash medley. There are also individuals performing together. We had a separate trio of women within the group called Pizzazz that performed Oh Johnny which was great and got a lot of laughs as they lavished upon Jim Fitzpatrick their musical adoration. These were just some of the highlights of their musical genius this day. Thank you, Notables, we love you all! Our November get-together will be Sat., Nov. 16. Our entertainment will be Ray Renden, who never disappoints. Our get-togethers will be two more months of the third Saturday of the month at the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. Then in 2020 they will be changing to the first Saturday of each month. That will be a real change for us but will allow us to stay in the South Clubhouse the entire year next year so it should be worth it. Feel free to visit us once to give us a try before deciding if you want to join. It'll be worth it, I'm sure. Please get your reservation in for the catering headcount by the fifth of the month for November and December to Donna Harrington at (909) 561-5066, your checks can be dropped off made out to 80s Plus Club at 5393 Riviera. Our dues are $10 a year to be a member and our catered dinners are $11 pp. For information about the club call Diane Aarhus at (951) 797-3676.
