Woodchucks
On Nov. 16, the Woodchucks will gather their handmade toys
from trailers, attics, garages, and burrows to set up the magic of the
holidays in our OHCC Clubhouse.
The toys are the products of the entire community, including our
master toy builders, artists, seamstresses, and all those who have
donated monies for the raw materials, and special gifts. Outside our
walls, cabinet companies donate wood supplies, and Home Depot
gives us discounts. This allows us to serve our neighbors at Camp
Pendleton.
These photos are a sneak preview of some of our newer efforts.
"Murph" and Patty Haugen have built log-cabin kits which will
stimulate brains, both young and old. Speedy race cars built by
Mitch McCarroll are driven by dashing drivers that are beautifully
hand-painted by Karen Long. The colorful puzzle train, built and
designed by Goldie Weis, uses both wood and 3-D printed parts.
The adorable fabric bag holding the train was designed and sewn by
Kathy Moskovitz. These Woodchuck members work all year on their
creations. They deserve our applause and thanks!
Remember, you can join us with your donated gifts starting Nov.
16. Let's envision the smiles and excitement of the enlisted families
as they celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah!
Silversmiths
The Silversmiths Club is again sponsoring an Arts & Crafts Faire
Nov. 23, for your early holiday shopping. Come check out some fun
things for yourself and your loved ones — we have a full variety of
offerings available. We're looking forward to another great event.
