September 2019 saw the return of "Team Key Ball" to the Billiards
Room. Key Ball is a game of 8-Ball with the twist that the 1-ball and
15-ball must be made in the predesignated side pockets. The team
designation comes into play because an "A" level player is teamed
with a "B" level player. All teams were formed by the luck of the draw
from those signed up to play.
The field of play consisted of nine eager teams. Play was spirited,
with much palavering among teammates in between alternating
shots. The teams were: Dan Wilkerson and Rick Pesco, Charlie
Payne and Brad Arens, Gary Pelcher and Leo Beeloo, Don Farmer
and Bill Crosby, Keith Bogost and Alan Belisle, Bob Sandler and Ken
Schreiner, Peter Fiore and Ralph Hundley, Ralph Ditursi and D.D.
Smith, Fred Ganoe and Janice Pelcher.
The final round came down to a match between Keith Bogost and
Alan Belisle vs. Charlie Payne and Brad Arens. Both teams battled
back and forth with each team winning a game apiece. This led to
a one game show down for the title of "Team Key Ball Champions."
After the dust settled, the new champions, Charlie Payne and Brad
Arens were crowned.
Well done to all participants in making this another great Billiards
Club event!
