6 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2019 Activities Director Corner By Cindy Graves December is upon us again and I have no idea how we got to the end of the year so fast! In any case, it is the season of love and good cheer. There will be more than 88 parties in three facilities over these next four weeks, so tighten your seat belts and drive more carefully through the neighborhood. The great thing about living so close to our party facilities is that many people can just roll home instead of drive. I hope that there will be more of that this year. This holiday season always begins with our annual association Holiday Extravaganza. This is a celebration at The Lodge that includes a wonderful decorated golf cart competition and parade starting at 4 pm on Friday, Dec. 6. Then there is a fabulous Holiday Show, "A Country Christmas Musical," on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, with refreshments. It is a great show to take the grandkids to and you cannot beat the price… it is free. All you need to do is go down to The Lodge front desk and ask for tickets to your preferred show date. This is always just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit. The next community event will be our Holiday Magic Night in the Ballroom, Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 pm. The International Brotherhood of Magicians comes and puts this on free of charge for our residents. You will be enthralled at some of these incredible illusions. All ages are welcome to attend and you don't even need a ticket to get in. Just show up. For those who love to sing the traditional inspiring Christmas Carols, Sally White will be leading a Christmas Carol sing-along in the Ballroom on Monday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 pm. She always makes things so fun and there is nothing quite as sweet as harmonizing with your neighbors in song. Everyone is also welcome to join in at no charge. No sign ups either, just come in and sit down. Finally, if you have never seen the awesome and amazing Terry and Betty Fears Holiday Home Tour then you are in for an incredible delight. Terry Fears was the leading designer at Tommy Bahama and this guy is over the top when it comes to decorating for the holidays. His house is literally as exciting as Disneyland without the lines. It is absolutely the most holiday heaven that anyone has ever packed into one home and still so artfully and tastefully done. What makes this even more heart-warming is that the measly $5 entrance fee all goes to Carol's Kitchen to feed the homeless. This year you have two days to choose from to see this Christmas miracle, Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21. Come down to The Lodge and pick up a flyer with the tour time and directions to their home, you'll be glad you did! Have a happy, happy holiday and thank you so much for the privilege of being able to serve you. Happy Holidays to everyone in Four Seasons from your friends at FirstService Residential
