52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2019 If you're looking for a fun and productive afternoon, please join us. We meet on the second and fourth Friday of the month at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. You will make three beautiful cards all ready to mail. We make cards for all occasions. For the class, you only need to bring your own glue and scissors, everything else will be provided and the cost is $8. It is necessary to RSVP early in the week of the class so we will be sure to have enough kits for everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email, chorbaparadise@yahoo.com, (951) 849-6336. ~ Maryalice Chorba Crafty Cardmakers Knit & Crochet Group Ceramic Class The group has selected a new project for the upcoming months. We will be making items for the VA Hospital, such as hats and shoulder wraps for the male patients. No timetable has been set for completion at this point. This will be coordinated with Anita Worthen, but we will have plenty of time. If any person who does not attend our meetings would like to contribute an item, they are welcome to do so. Just deliver them to the Arts & Crafts Room on any Tuesday morning between 10 and 11:30 am, which is our usual meeting time. ~ Dorothy Payne, dpayne001@dc.rr.com Craft Group The Craft Group has continued with holiday projects, the latest being the reversible mantle piece, pictured above. One side can be used for Thanksgiving and the other side for Christmas. Pauline Miller's Thanksgiving side is shown and the Christmas side is the work of Barbara Paules. As our photo shows, we hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and we wish you all a Merry Christmas. We will not meet during the month of December. Our first meeting of 2020, will be Thursday, Jan. 2, at 10 am, we hope you'll join us. This will be a planning meeting to discuss projects for the new year. ~ Barbara Paules Our chalking class, taught by Loretta Ramsey last month, was a great success. The chalking technique is done on a ceramic piece painted with a no-fire paint. Chalking brings your piece to life. Another great reason to like the chalking technique is that because you are chalking on a no fire paint, you can take your piece home the same day. There will be an announcement in class and a sign-up sheet of what and when our next class project will be. If you have a request for something you have seen and liked, let Loretta know and that may be the next project we do. Also, our new class hours are 1 to 4 pm on Wednesdays. Please see class schedule for any exceptions. Ceramics class has something for the novice crafter looking for a new hobby, or someone who has experience and wants to create their own unique design or create pieces for friends and family. In addition to individual projects, we also offer class projects throughout the year to teach new techniques. Come and join in the fun, drop by the Arts & Crafts Room to see our monthly ceramics class schedule and learn more about our upcoming class projects. Certified instructor and/or an experienced class team lead is available to support your crafting needs, participation is at your own pace and frequency. Call Loretta Ramsey at (714) 803-6744 or Brenda Ystrom at (909) 910-1100 for more information. ~ Brenda Ystrom Members enjoyed the November chalking class
