FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2019 53 Quilting Enthusiasts We have such great quilters in our group. Take a look at the Schlep bags the group made under the great teaching of Mary Moody-Cox. This month Nancy Lilly led the group through making these cute gift bags. In December we will meet on Dec. 8 for a holiday celebration in the Arts & Crafts Room before we go to the Bistro. Bring a wrapped fat quarter for an exchange with other members. In January we will be back to our regular first Sunday of the month from 1 to 4 pm for special projects, sharing and all things quilt related. We welcome quilting newbies and experienced quilters. The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room is also open each subsequent Sunday for individual use. For information, contact Mary Christelman at ferndalemary@ gmail.com. ~ Mary Christelman Members with fat quarter bags Members and their schlep bags Mixed Media Arts Class This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Diane Gray. "Rob Kelman's art class is just a fun place to be if you have a desire to create with a brush, pencil, or chalk. He will help you get started and then help you along the way with all kinds of practical advice and instruction. This drawing was created using watercolor pencils. It reminded me of a vacation I had taken with my sister to Provence in early June the lavender was in full bloom. We stayed in an old stone farm house with a red tiled roof and blue shutters, located in the small village of Joucas. I could look out of my bedroom window to witness endless fields of lavender. The hill towns of Gordes and Roussillion were nearby and the air in the hot sun was fragrant with both lavender and Rosemary." Classes are Mondays, 10 am to 12 noon, and/or Wednesdays, 6 to 8 pm. Classes are FREE to our residents. If you have any questions, call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156. ~ Rob Kelman Art by Artist of the Month Diane Gray The Mixed Media Arts Class has collectively made a 2020 calendar using images from within the Four Seasons community.
