| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2020 | 3 From the President's Desk By Sandra Moyer Happy New Year to all! I hope your holidays went as planned as we had to contend with winter weather. Some updates on the Refresh project: The South Wing should be completed by Jan. 4. Some changes that we made are the following: laminate flooring is replacing the carpet in all rooms of the South Wing, except the Multipurpose Room and the Main Library. We also will put the laminate flooring in the Bus Room, the Dressing Rooms, and as you enter from stage door side up to the curtain. This will help with traffic wear on Main Ballroom carpet. We recognized a problem with the carpet and we are waiting for the manufacturer to fix it. They are doing their own testing on the carpet and as of this writing I do not have any results. The Ballroom and the Sandwedge are completed. At our December open meeting, the Board approved the changing of certain procedures for the election of Boards and Delegates. This was a formality because it was mandated by law. Most of the changes involve timing of events. Please note the new times for our upcoming election in April. 1. Candidates Forms available Mon., Feb.3 in Admin. Office 2. Forms must be completed and returned to Admin. Office by Fri. 21 no later than 5 pm 3. Candidate Orientation Meeting is Fri., Feb. 28 at 1:30 pm in the Admin. Conference Room (a photo will be taken to display in the Main Clubhouse) 4. Meet Candidate Forums is Tues., March 3 at 6 pm in the Ballroom and Wed. March 4 at10 am in the Ballroom. This information as well as additional dates for mailing of ballots etc. will be posted on our website, Facebook, Administration Office, and Clubhouses. Final reminder, starting this month the HOA dues are now $282 per month. Time for some laughs: The three hardest things to say are: 1. I was wrong 2. I need help 3. Worcestershire Sauce I asked my grandpa "after 65 years, you still call grandma darling, beautiful, and honey. What's the secret?" He said, " I forgot her name five years ago and I'm scared to ask her." The Board wishes to all, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, a holiday season that brings you peace, relaxation and joyful times with your friends and family!
