42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2020 Step It Up Line Dancing Every once in a while we catch a very special moment that reminds us of the little gifts that every day brings and takes our breath away. We caught one of those moments during the Step It Up Holiday Line dance party with Michael and Tina Canon featured in the picture at right. With the help of his loving and supportive wife Tina, Michael is on the comeback trail and was able to dance with his wife at the party. Truly this was a moment that touched everybody and I'm so happy that Tina joined our class recently to make this moment happen. During the party one of dancers asked me "doesn't that make you proud watching everyone dance?" and of course I said yes with a little tear in my eye. While I'm extremely proud of the class, it's up to each individual how much they want to learn. I so enjoy teaching dances each week, whether I bring a new dance or we review older ones, it's always great fun. Classes start at 12:30 pm on Mondays for LD 101 (entry level) and the beginner/Intermediate class starts at 1:30 pm. Our new three month LD 101 class starts up again Jan. 6. This is the perfect time for new dancers who need/want to start slow. Maybe we'll see some of you on Monday, Jan. 6. ~ Janine Rohrbacker, (949) 326-3133 Let's Dance Happy New Year! Our dance group is happy to announce we will begin 2020 with the East Coast Swing for January starting Monday, Jan. 6. We are also happy to announce this class will be FREE to any new members or previous members who have not attended class in the past six months! If you are new, this is your chance to see what this dance group is all about and have some good exercise and fun with your neighbors. The East Coast Swing is one of the most enjoyable and easy dances to learn. It has simple footwork that repeats itself while you learn different ways to turn and dance with your partner to almost any fast music. It is easily one of the most diverse dances to learn because you can dance it to so many kinds of music – jazz, country, 50s and current-day music. Our teachers are professionally-trained dancers and instructors offering top quality instruction at a bargain price. They have endless patience and understanding. We students are just a group of friendly people doing the best we can with what we have. We meet every Monday night in the Ballroom. We learn 8 to 10 dances throughout the year with regular time devoted to review. We have free practice nights every Thursday, where we help each other. We will be continuing our monthly "Dance Party Practices" in a nightclub atmosphere, where our instructors join us in a fun, social gathering of dance. This gives you an environment that's different from classes and helps you learn how to make your way around the dance floor. We celebrate monthly birthdays, and this is offered at no charge. Plan to join us in the Ballroom, Monday, Jan. 6, from 6 to 7 pm for Newcomers and Beginners and 7 to 8 pm for Intermediate and Advanced. After the FREE class, the cost is $10 per person with our professional instructors.
