44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2020 Women's Evening Bible Study "Life is like a camera. Just focus on what's important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don't turn out just take another shot." ~ Unknown As we begin an exciting new year in our Bible Study, we will focus on Jesus the Author and Perfecter of our faith. In the months ahead, we will continue our study in the Parables of Jesus. Our study has given us practical applications on Godly love, forgiveness, wisdom, and faith. Our first gathering in 2020 will be on Thursday, Jan. 16 in The Lodge Game Room at 6:30 pm. Our focus will be on two parables found in Matthew and John: Lost Sheep and The Sheep, Gate, and Shepherd. Women's Evening Bible Study is an opportunity for working women, caretakers, and those unable to attend during the day to participate in a fellowship close to home. We pray for one another, give encouraging words, and share words of wisdom. Our faith grows stronger as we dig into the Word of God. Come join us and meet our kind, warm-hearted, and friendly ladies. If you would like more information, there is a sign-up sheet in The Lodge. I will be happy to answer your questions. Look forward to seeing you soon! "The grass withers, and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever." Isaiah 40:8 Wishing you a blessed New Year. ~ Mary Baer, baerhuggy@ icloud.com Jewish Cultural Club January Events Off To A Big Start Fresh off a big December, the Jewish Cultural Club has three major events for January. Hanukkah Extravaganza First, we want to thank everyone who attended our first ever spectacular Hanukkah Extravaganza. At the time of the writing of this article (a week before the event), we had just around 150 people signed up, and still more ticket sales coming in. We are overwhelmed by the response. I can tell you that based on the response, 2020's Hanukkah Extravaganza will be even bigger and better! Don't Forget Trivia Night If you are the kind of person who memorizes totally useless bits of facts and figures, and are looking for a place to finally put that talent to use, Trivia Night is for you. It's held every month on the first Sunday in the RCN, at 6 pm. Trivia night is hosted by the trivia wizard himself, Joe Barletta. The winners receive lotto tickets. Who knows what they might be worth? Stop by and play. You could be our first $1 million winner! It's a fun way to spend a Sunday evening. January's game is on Jan. 5 at 6:30 pm. Reservations are not necessary. Movie Night We had a great turnout for The Producers in November. Based on the turnout, we thought we would run another comedy. On Sunday, Jan. 19, we will be showing the hilarious Keeping Up With The Steins. It's a fun look at the lucrative Bar Mitzvah industry. It's funny and poignant. On top of that, it features an end-of-film surprise cameo by a huge Jewish singer. Reservations. As with all JCC events, you don't have to be Jewish to attend. All are welcome. We hope to see you in January. ~ Perry Goldstein, perry.goldstein@gmail.com Jewish Cultural Club Life Guide Bible Study Happy New Year! We look forward to learning more Biblical insights to encourage our faith journey and spiritual growth in 2020. We will begin our regular studies on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 pm in the third section of The Lodge Ballroom. Jim Seim will continue leading our study in the book of Psalms. We can identify with some Psalms that present a lament of our current difficulties and then move on to thankfulness, praise, and hope expressed in God's wonderful grace and kindness toward us. We invite all residents to join us for fellowship, discussion, and learning from God's Word. We meet every Tuesday at 7 pm. Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@gmail.com. ~ Doc Sellars
