Unexpected winds and rains put a little damper (pun intended) on our weekly Thursday rides in November. So, we looked forward to getting back in the saddle as December rolled around and we got lucky. We recently headed out for a ride around the Salton Sea one day after some heavy rains and we found the roads to be surprisingly dry and relatively free of debris. What made the ride especially enjoyable was the temperature that was in the mid 60s for the entire ride. We were all wearing just enough riding gear to keep us nice and warm the entire day. Also, we have discovered a Mexican fast food place in Brawley for lunch that has excellent burritos! With winter approaching we know that rains may continue to prevent us from riding on some Thursdays. However, every member has cold weather riding gear so, regardless of cold temps, we will take advantage of every dry Thursday over winter and hit the road every chance we get. 2020 will be here soon and the MC is preparing for the new year by arranging for our annual dinner, which is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Palm Springs. This annual fun event is a good way to reflect on our riding adventures in 2019 and to look forward to what lies in store in 2020. We have already scheduled two multi-day rides for 2020. In March we will go on our Death Valley ride and in September we will head out on our Northern California/Crater Lake ride. The Death Valley ride is a three day ride that takes us to Bishop on day-one. On day-two we ride through Death Valley on our way to Las Vegas. Day-three is the last leg of the trip on our way home. The Northern California/Crater Lake ride will be a nine-day adventure. Yes! We will head north via Bishop, Jackson, Chester and finally to Klamath Falls and Crater Lake. We will then head southwest to Crescent City and then south along the coast to Fort Bragg, then over the Golden Gate Bridge to Aptos. Our final night will be in Solvang and then home. (Thank you Bob Howard for mapping out this trip.) 2020 is shaping up to be another incredible year for the Four Seasons MC. If you ride, we invite you to become a member of the club. We aren't picky about what you ride. On any given weekly ride you will find a wide array of motorcycles including Harley Davidson, BMW, Triumph, Yamaha, Indian and Victory. If you would like more information about the Four Seasons MC, feel free to call club president Terry Humble at (909) 706-2298, vice president Scott Snyder at (562) 714-7252, or secretary Jim Ayala at (951) 392-6259. ~ Jim Ayala, jimrayala95@gmail.com 50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2020 Motorcycle club Joe Bert, Terry Humble, Jim Ayala and Scott Snyder getting fuel Joe Bert at Salvation Mountain on the Salton Sea ride Heading home along the Salton Sea
