30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2020 | Rehearsals for our That's Entertainment production "Chasing the Dream" are in full swing and we're excited to bring you four performances Feb. 27, 28, and 29 at 7 pm and March 1 at 2 pm. Back by popular demand, we are again producing this show in the round, bringing the action up close and personal! Many of your favorite performers are back to wow you with their beautiful voices, delightful dancing and hysterical comedy. $10 tickets go on sale from 9 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday, Feb. 10 – 26 and Saturday/Sunday the 22 and 23 from 11 am to 2 pm. We plan to offer credit card sales on the weekend. Save the date – Wed., March 11, 6 pm, for our next Appetizer Potluck in the South Clubhouse. Our last was so successful that we're reprising the event. Bring an appetizer to share and the club will provide wine. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If you have any interest in acting, helping backstage, volunteering for other jobs, or are just curious about what we do, come see what we are all about. This year the Follies theme will be Sun Lakes Does Vegas and the dates will be Fri., Sept. 25, Sat., Sept. 26 and Sun., Sept. 27. Our general meeting will be Feb. 20 at 1 pm in the South Clubhouse. We would love to have new people join. Bring your comedy routine, do you sing? Maybe you're a little shy and would like to be behind the scenes. Come to the meeting… All new people who sign up and become paid members will have their names in a drawing to win a prize! Membership is $10 single or $15 per couple. Checks or cash. If you're a music fan you may be the type of person who mentally puts songs into categories just because it's easier to recall them that way. One song category that comes to mind is songs about cars. There are so many songs with cars as the subject — for example, Little GTO by Ronnie & The Daytonas, Little Red Corvette by Prince, I Get Around by The Beach Boys, Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett,CARS by Gary Numan and many others. If car songs are your thing and singing this type of song is what you like to do, maybe you should join Rosie Ingalls, Barb Miller and D.J. Blast of Goodtimes Karaoke at our monthly Sun Lakes Karaoke show. This month you'll find Barb, Rosie & D.J. Blast in the South Clubhouse on Fri., Feb. 28 from 5:30 to 9 pm. Start your vocal engines and get them revved up for some fun singing, and dancing to your favorite cruzin' classics or whatever other type of song you may want to sing.
