Chorale
The Chorale of Sun Lakes is preparing for a Spring Concert Series
that features Caribbean/Island/Calypso music. We'll be singing in the
theme called "Having Fun in the Islands," which includes all sorts of
islands. (Be ready for surprises!)
Led by Director Mark Faber, our members practice singing at
Monday morning rehearsals, 9:30 am to 12:15 pm in the Ballroom, and
at shorter individual section practices on Thursdays in the Bus Room.
Our Spring Concert Series will be held April 24, 25, and 26. Ticket
sales begin at 9 am on April 6. Mark your calendars, and don't miss it!
The Pink Ukuladies & Gents
The Pink Ukuladies & Gents began
an exciting new year playing their
ukuleles and singing to an enthusiastic
audience at an exclusive Veterans of
Foreign Wars dinner, given by the new
Department of CA VFW Auxiliary
President, Mary Ryser. The dinner
was held in the ballroom at Morongo
Casino and honored the National
VFW Auxiliary President, Peggy Haake
of Hawaii. Many local and national dignitaries of the U.S. VFW
Auxiliary were present.
The ukulele performance was followed by many Hawaiian dances
conducted by Diane Avina, Sarah Thornberry and their dancers, with
musical accompaniment by Ed Avina.
A special thank you is extended to Nelly Vanlommel for obtaining
this appointment, giving Pink Ukuladies & Gents, as well as our
dancers, the opportunity to perform.
The group is practicing diligently for their participation with the
Inland Empire Ukulele Festival, held in Grand Terrace, CA, in May,
2020.
The Pink Ukuladies & Gents welcome those who are interested in
playing the ukulele and singing favorite numbers. No prior music
experience is required. Classes continue in the Main Clubhouse;
however, weekly practice is now on Tuesdays in the Bus Room.
Timing for classes is as follows: 12:30 pm set up; 1 pm class begins.
