FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2020 7 By Cindy Graves It's February, so be sure to go the extra mile to love your neighbors. I'm writing this article on Dec. 30. My Board packet has been completed in preparation for the January Board meeting, but nothing has been approved yet. I did, however, want to give you a heads up about a possible super fun event that may be occurring (check The Lodge or the Daily Report for further information). I have requested that we have an HOA sponsored Valentine's Day Dance in The Lodge Ballroom on Friday, Feb. 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. If all goes as requested, everyone will be welcome and there will be no charge to attend. I'm hoping for a live band, the Front Row Band, along with D.J. Tracy Crow, to keep the room bopping when the band takes a break. Check in with us and find out what the official scoop is. Have a wonderful February and stay warm. Happy Valentine's Day and I'll see you around The Lodge! By Len Tavernetti A decade and a half ago, our builder commenced work on a vision of building an oasis in the barren desert of Riverside County. Bulldozers and graders changed the rolling hills, and crews of workers laid pipes and wires, built roads and bridges as designer dreams were transformed into houses, buildings, courts, and landscapes. Then, pilgrims were attracted to populate and give life to the oasis. They came from all walks of life: government, private industry, and individual enterprises. They brought their skill sets, experiences, and training to complete their dream of a golden age in paradise. We are now ready to release the mooring lines on the builder's flagship senior community. Only a couple of finishing touches are needed at the north and south ends of our enclave. We have organized our resources to operate this ship financially, culturally, and responsibly. Our wonderful staff has grown with us to help pilot us through a labyrinth of government shoals and will stay at our side. But the helm is now in our hands. We now face a future without infusions of builder resources to augment homeowner dues. Any new features, playgrounds, and events will be funded entirely by our own homeowners. It will be up to us to maintain our lifestyles in balance with our ever-growing expenses as a California community. The talent and commitment of our committee chairpersons are paramount to our continued success. Their members are the frontline soldiers who will identify problems, analyze causes, and recommend solutions. The elected Board members will prioritize these solutions to maintain a balance between our investments and quality of life for all residents. And we have the "Right Stuff " to do it!
