FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2020 57 Webster's dictionary defines extravaganza as "a lavish or spectacular show or event." I don't believe that there's a single member of the Four Seasons Table Tennis Club who attended our Holiday Party in December who would describe the event as anything less than an extravaganza. Thanks in part to the event-planning vision of Lian Lee, the deft pine cone painting expertise of Mitch Harmon, and the incredible ease with which Sandi Butler-Roberts handled the microphone as our emcee, this year's table tennis party was a huge success. After gorging on a fully catered dinner of pulled pork sandwiches, chicken cordon bleu and cheesecake, our members and their significant others engaged in a number of fun activities that were enjoyed by all. To kick off the evening, honored guest John Noonan fired up his karaoke equipment to allow our more courageous members the opportunity to give us their best Sinatra or Taylor Swift imitations. They did not disappoint! Kudos go out to Neil, Sandi, Perry, Sally, Josephine, Richard, Lisa and others who entertained the group by belting out standard classics and energetic holiday tunes. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was the stand up (or should we say, sit down) comedy routine performed by Teri Meyers-Kelman (pictured), whose rapid-fire delivery of jokes relating to ping pong got lots of laughs from around the room. And last but certainly not least, a big shout-out goes to Suzie Harmon, who led a contingent of 20+ FSTTC members in an hour- long line dancing class to close out this terrific party. Finally, a very special thank you to John Noonan, who volunteered his time and karaoke equipment (not to mention his singing skills) to host this very fun and festive portion of this wonderful event. Without question, our Four Seasons Table Tennis Extravaganza was an amazing way to usher in the holiday season and New Year. ~ Bob Rubenstein, brube88@gmail.com Ping Pong Paddle Tennis My wife, Grace and I have resided here in Four Seasons over five years now and have really enjoyed living in this community. I started playing paddle tennis about six months after we moved in and have played ever since. The paddle tennis group members are inviting, funny and encouraging. I found this to be true for the pickleball and tennis groups as well. If you've recently moved into Four Seasons, be sure to stop by any of these groups and give them a try. They are all a good way to exercise and a good way to get to know the other residents in our community. We've made some great friends here and remember what it was like the first time we walked onto a court or into karaoke, line dancing, the concerts and the dinner dances. We were greeted each time with a smile and an extended hand. We welcome you here as well and hope you come out sometime to visit all of our clubs. ~ Phil Suchowski Winter play times are daily from 3 to 5 pm, except Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call Alan Chan at (310) 251-9269 or Alex Castano at (909) 746-7529. ~ Alan Chan Top Left: Sandi and Lisa surprising us with their terrific voices; Left: Teri Meyers-Kelman doing her best Jackie Mason routine; Above: Suzie Harmon leading the Table Tennis Club in perfect sync
