58 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2020 The Four Season 8-Ball Club holds two in-house tournaments each month — an 8-Ball tournament and a 9-Ball tournament. Most months we play four additional tournaments against Hemet (Solera) and Cherry Valley (Solera). Each community travels here once each month and we travel to their community once each month. They are great people and we have a great time, win or lose, but prefer the win. In the in-house 8-ball tournament, we had nine players competing. Ray Windhorn and Del Lyles (our club captain) made it to the finals. Del went undefeated in the winner's bracket. While having lost his first match, Ray had fought his way back to face Del in the finals. In the finals, Ray accomplished the difficult task of winning two matches against Del to become this month's 8-Ball champion. Congratulations to Ray, this month's 8-Ball champion and Del, this month's runner up. The in-house 9-Ball tournament this month found our husband and wife team, Leo and Jone Babin, competing for the title of December's 9-Ball Club champion. Jone made it to the final, by playing her way through the loser's bracket. In the finals, Jone accomplished the difficult task of winning two matches to become this month's 9-Ball champion. Congratulations to Jone Babin, this month's 9-Ball champion, and Leo Babin, this month's runner up. The 8-Ball Club is always looking for new residents who like to play pool to join us. The club plays or practices Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights 6:30 until 9 pm. There is a calendar of our events in the Billiards Room on the 8-Ball Club bulletin board. Just stop by and check us out. 8-Ball Club Officers: Captain Del Lyles, Sr. (951) 845-5114, Co-Captain Larry Rice (951) 236-1156. ~ Larry Rice The 8-Ball Club Happy New Year y'all and welcome to 2020! It's that time of year when we all reevaluate our lives and make New Year's resolutions. Many will vow to get up off that sofa and get our more, meet new people, and try new things. If this sounds like you and your partner, come check us out on a Thursday evening. We play from 5 to 8 pm and it's open play so come in and leave when you please. Don't worry sports fans, we can watch your favorite game on TV; yes, we can actually shoot pool and watch TV at the same time. Our Cues 4 Two couples group had a busy and fun 2019. We all enjoyed each others company for a nice holiday dinner at La Casita which of course included lots of chatter, ribbing, and some good old fashioned laughs. The only requirement for this group is you must have thick skin cause we sure do like to tease and taunt each other (all in good fun, of course). We also held our last quarterly tournament in which our winners were: 1st place: Paul Snyder and Joy Collins; 2nd place: Bob & Pat Semler. If you have questions about the group, please call Leta Ramirez at (626) 695-0798 or Pat Semler at (714) 325-5280 or just stop by on a Thursday evening and check us out. ~ Leta Ramirez Cues 4 Two Joy Collins & Paul Snyder.
