| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2020 | 27
The calendar says that February is winter, but my azaleas were
blooming in December… so what do we know?
February brings thoughts of love, anticipation of spring rains
and… workshops! Susan Baker, (instructor extraordinaire) will be
showing us how to take a very simple quilt block (section of a quilt)
and turn it into something wonderful. Her "Disappearing 9-Patch"
classes will be held on Feb. 20 and 27 at 9 am in the Sewing Room.
More information on supplies needed for the classes will be discussed
at the February Sewing, Etc. meeting on the 6th, and posted on the
board in the Sewing Room. This is a really fun project, and will show
us how easy it is to think outside of the box in regards to design.
Our regular gatherings Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons
continue, as we all work on our own projects. Thursday mornings
are open for sewing or whatever you are trying to accomplish, and
Tuesday afternoons are busy with MaryLu Belisle and the knitters.
The second Saturday is our regular 'Sew-In', and on the Feb. 18, our
Wearable Arts group will be meeting and creating. So many exciting
activities! A complete list of happenings is on the bulletin board in
the Sewing Room.
If anyone would like to participate in our activities and is unable
to get to the Clubhouse, please contact Chris Sanderson at (858) 442-
1834. We have volunteers ready to pick you up!
Please visit our website, lovingly updated by Terri Eckhardt.

Silversmiths
In 2020 we will be featuring both working with metals (fabrication)
and turning wax models into metal (lost wax casting), the best of
both worlds with two seasoned instructors to allow you to learn the
intricacies of both methods. Classes are on Wednesdays at 1 pm in
the Craft Room. Come and create, inspire, and bring your talent to
OHCC.
