We elected the new officers for 2020. Terry Humble is President. This will be Terry's third year in a row serving as President. Terry's enthusiasm and leadership is truly appreciated. Jim Ayala, previously Secretary, is now the club's Vice President. Joe Bert is the new club Secretary. Scott Snyder, formally the club's Vice President, is now the Safety Officer. It's nice knowing that the club is in good hands. The winter weather has been so nice that we decided to ride to San Clemente on a recent Thursday for lunch on the pier. Bob Howard led and first took us to Corona via Cajalco Rd. where we took our first break at Starbucks. (When Bob leads, a Starbucks stop is mandatory.) We then headed to Lake Elsinore and up the Ortega Hwy. on our way to the coast. When we rolled into San Clemente the weather was in the 70s. After lunch, we headed to Oceanside then inland to Pala. Bob led us to Temecula using back roads where we traveled through wine country, eventually hooking up with Sage Rd. and then north to Beaumont. It was about a 170 mile ride. Another Thursday ride was a scenic loop (again about 170 miles) that took us south to Aguanga via Sage Rd., east to Lake Henshaw, west to Pala and north to Rainbow for lunch. We then rode through the familiar Temecula wine country, eventually hooking up with Sage Rd. to complete the loop before heading home. Speaking of spring, plans are finalized for our Death Valley ride. Nine riders are signed up for the March ride that will take us to Bishop on the first day. On day two we ride through Death Valley to Las Vegas. Day three will be back to Beaumont. This is the first of several multi-day rides in 2020. In May we head for Laughlin and surrounding areas for a four-day ride. In September, we head to Oregon on a nine-day ride. In October, we head for Jacumba on a two-day ride. If you are new to the community and you ride, we would love to have you join us. We meet Thursdays in The Lodge parking lot before 9 am for a briefing on the day's ride. We're on the road promptly at 9 am. As for your ride, we aren't picky. On any given Thursday you will find a mixed bag of rides including Triumph, Victory, Harley Davidson, Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki, Indian, and Suzuki. ~ Jim Ayala, jimrayala95@gmail.com 50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2020 Motorcycle club Rolling into San Clemente Taking a break at Lake Henshaw.
