FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2020 51 'Tis the season at Ocotillo Wells and it's only an hour and a half southeast of us. Ocotillo is one of the best 4x4 playgrounds around. Over 130 square miles of trails, gorges, and washes. Some of us have been exploring this area of the low desert since we were kids and still haven't seen it all. This was another beautiful day in the desert for our first club outing of 2020. Low 70s and recent rain keeping the dust down. We had a ten vehicle convoy on this month's adventure in Ocotillo. We picked a nice little spot for lunch that was protected from the light wind and where it was an easy hike to the hill tops for a great view of the Salton Sea. Another great day was had by all, with Laurie and Linda testing out their new-blue Jeep Rubicon and Rick giving some assistance to John after he high centered at the top of a hill. Anyone not in the club who, #1 - lives here at Four Seasons and #2 - has a four-wheel drive vehicle that they don't mind getting dirty and maybe a little desert pinstriped, is welcome to come to our monthly meetings. The meetings are the first Tuesday of the month, 6 pm in The Lodge Arts & Crafts Room. The official club outing is on the following Thursday. Prior to our excursion, we meet at The Lodge at 7:45 am and rolling out by 8 am. Hope to see you there. ~ Scott Snyder, scottdonaldsnyder@gmail.com 4x4 Seasons All Seasons RV Another year and a new decade has begun. Several of our members made our annual pilgrimage to Quartzsite, Arizona to visit the big White Tent. The Tent is an annual event put on by numerous RV vendors and suppliers of everything for your RV that you never knew you needed, and probably didn't, but purchased anyway. This is an unusual camp out as some members prefer an RV Park with full hookups and others prefer dry camping on BLM land. Either way, we usually meet up with one another in the "Big White Tent." In speaking to several members, they told me they had a great time, and enjoyed their time with friends and family. Our February trip was to Las Vegas with several members attending. This is always a fun trip with numerous winning and losing, mostly losing, stories. Future camp outs include Pechanga, Oceanside, Buelton, and Lake Tahoe. If any of these trips pique your interest, we would love to have you join us. We meet the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm in The Lodge, or you can contact Bob Cooper at (952) 769-6352 or Larry Z at (909) 552-2798 for more information. ~ Ann Williams Even dogs love the RV camp out experience.
