FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2020 61 Fishing Club People have asked me why I love to go fishing so much. I give them three of the main reasons for going fishing as much as I can. In this article I will give my fishing friends here at Four Seasons the reasons that I love to fish. The first reason is that I get to go fishing with friends who I enjoy being with. We laugh and tell fishing stories and try to solve the world's problems. It does not matter if we catch fish as long as we can be together and have a good time. The second reason is the unknown. What I mean by that is that you never know what is going to happen while you are fishing. I get to meet other fishermen or women that teach me how to catch fish at the lake I am fishing at that time. I have caught fish when I thought I would not even get a bite. I have not caught fish when I thought that I was going to limit out in no time. The third reason is that it is very relaxing for me to sit and fish and try not to think about all the problems of the world. I concentrate on catching that prize fish and do not worry about other things that make my life a little harder to live. There are other reasons that I go fishing, but those are the three main reasons. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember to always stay safe while you are having a good time fishing. ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@gmail. com TOPS No, we don't have a golf course or a liquor-serving restaurant, but we do have hiking trails and plenty of places to walk and play with our pets. We, at Four Seasons, seem to love our pets and spend part of each day with them. The dog that I care about the most is Daisy, pictured at right. She is a rescued shepherd/lab mix. She is well-behaved, gentle, yet protective and doesn't pull her owners, our son and daughter, off the trail. She is a lover and a licker, a great companion. Yes, Daisy has helped our daughter-in-law deal with an early heart attack, and that cannot be valued in dollars. But we dog owners do spend hundreds of dollars on our animals. Dog collars, tags, leashes, cold weather coats and even some holiday costumes cost money. Foods, whether fresh or kibbled, from a vet or bought at Walmart, and treats for good behavior and tricks are another expense. Trips to the vet, supplemental vitamins, and medicines, flea treatments, grooming, nail clipping, ear mite cleaning, and boarding expenses can really mount up. Fancy dog beds, feeding stations and automatic doggie doors top the list for expensive necessities. But, they are worth it. One look in the face of our pets and we melt, and we swear that they are worth every dollar. But what does this pet tribute have to do with living a healthy lifestyle? It only costs $3/month to belong to TOPS, a place where you can keep YOUR body healthy. We spend time and money on our pets and often neglect that which enables us to be a good pet owner, keeping ourselves healthy. Each week we learn about the things that will keep us active longer. Last week, Cathy Calhoun talked about "Aging Well." We were sent home to think about a change we can make in our routines that will increase our time with our beloved families and our pets. Yes, we love our Daisys, but let's remember they need healthy owners. Why not join us, and make a healthy difference in your life, today. We meet Tuesday, 8 am, in The Lodge Ballroom. ~ Andi Henderson 918-497-6491
