20 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2020 | Bingo Advisory BINGO IN MARCH! Yes, March is a great month with St. Patrick's Day and March Madness for all of you basketball fans. But for Sun Lakes Bingo fans, our games will be played on March 10, 17, 24, and 31. Every week we have many winners at Bingo. Come join the fun. Doors open at 4:30 pm and games start at 6 pm. Guests can play for as little as $7 for a great evening out. Food and drinks are available from our restaurant and lounge or you can bring food from home. Just come, win and yell BINGO! Sun Lakes Advisory Committee Reports We are happy to see more Advisory Committees submitting articles about the important work they are doing in Sun Lakes. Our goal is to have all active Advisory Committees share their news here each month. Thank you in advance for everyone's participation! Communications Your Communications Advisory Committee has hit the ground running in 2020. The most visible feature of this activity is the new and improved programming on the community TV Bulletin Board: "Good Day Sun Lakes" on Spectrum's Channel 97. I encourage all Sun Lakes residents to take a look – you will be surprised at the exciting look and breadth of interest that the newly deployed "shows" have to offer! Please take a moment to review the programming guide for areas that interest you. The production team will continue to tweak the guide to provide the easiest and clearest ways for residents to find what they want. Currently you can look in Lifestyles and now, also on the SunLakesCC web page for the guide. The main shows are "The Explorer" which describes trips that are planned through the Recreation Department or its partners. Then there is "The Village Beat" which updates information about the many activities and groups in Sun Lakes. To keep the shows at about one hour length, The Village Beat has three sections. One feature currently on the channel is a wonderful video recorded at the Sun Lakes Activity Day in January. So many residents were interviewed that the tape was divided into three segments. Segment 1 is included in Village Beat #1, Segment 2 in Village Beat #2, etc. You will enjoy the interviews and seeing your Sun Lakes friends. If your group or club would like to feature upcoming activities, recruit new members, or announce results of recent competitions, e-mail your information, photos and videos to gooddaysunlakes@gmail.com or drop off at the Main Clubhouse reception desk. If this would be your first time making a submission, you may wish to pick up our handout that explains the process. This is also at the Main Clubhouse reception desk. DELEGATE ASSEMBLY 10 am & 10 pm The District Delegate Assembly Meeting is the monthly open session meeting of the 23 District Delegates that discuss issues that arise in the districts, reports from management staff and the Master Board of Directors to the delegates. MASTER BOARD MEETING 12 midnight & 12 noon The Master Board of Directors Open Session is the monthly open session of the Master Board meeting in the Ballroom. THE VILLAGE BEAT THE ENTERTAINERS 2, 5 & 8 am • 2, 5 & 8 pm The Village Beat features the many clubs and groups in Sun Lakes. Video announcements of their meetings, special events and activities. It also includes a feature called The Entertainers featuring various entertainment available in Sun Lakes, such as music in the Lounge, Ballroom or Veranda, plays, dances, concerts, movies, comedy, etc. If it is entertainment for the whole community, then it will be featured. THE EXPLORER 4 & 7 am • 4 & 7 pm The Explorer features the Recreation Department's excursions and tours. You will see short video descriptions of the excursions and tours, dates and costs NEWS & VIEWS/SPORTS CORNER 3, 6 & 9 am • 3, 6 & 9 pm News & Views is a show with special features and interviews. Updates on special events, reviews of prior special events, introducing our wonderful staff that work hard for us, human interest stories about unique residents and their life stories. We will also feature the Sports Corner with stories on upcoming competitions and tournaments and who the winners are.
