By Scott Lemieux, CPS Director
The month of February was productive in terms of equipment upgrades and identifying areas
where Community Patrol will focus our efforts and attention toward improved response and long-
term preparedness.
Both of the CPS patrol vehicles have had emergency light bars installed, this will assist in
officers responding to emergencies within the community. This relatively simple enhancement to
the patrol vehicles accomplishes two aims, it first allows for a more rapid response and second, it
clearly identifies when officers are simply patrolling throughout the community and when they are
responding to an emergency within the community. This is a much-needed benefit and contributes
to CPS's quality of service to OHCC.
We recently received our CPR/AED Training Manikin (sic) and will begin our monthly validation
and sustainment training in this critical skill. The training manikin has an enhanced feature which
provides performance feedback to the officer and supervisor as to whether the proper techniques
are being utilized in both CPR and AED applications. I would like to thank Wendy and Heather
at the HOA for their continued exceptional support in approving the funds for this training aid.
As far as I'm aware no other Securitas site has this training aid available for officers to maintain
proficiency in these life-saving skills. Thank you, Wendy and Heather!
As always if you have any questions or recommendations please feel free to contact me at the
Front Gate and I'd be happy to assist you. Please remember to abide by posted speed limits and
obey all traffic signs. Safety is the objective, not citations. We all contribute to the culture of safety
within the community. Safety doesn't happen by accident.
