| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2020 | 51 Executive Men's Golf Make sure to come out on the Championship Course on Wednesdays! It is men's day with the opportunity to win closest to the pin (CP), from the white tees, when you pay into the kitty a dollar each for the two par 3 CP holes selected that day. Scheduled this month is the Sun Lakes Sweepstakes Tournament. The pairings party will be held on Mon., April 13. Day one is a 4-Man Scramble on Wed., April 15 and day two is a 2,2,3 Best Balls on Sat., April 18. Beef and Beer Days: On the second Wednesday of each month beginning Wed., April 8 through Sept. 9 the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club has a Beef and Beer event at a minimal cost, which is held on the Veranda after playing golf (shotgun start). This is not a tournament and this event is open to all golfers who play golf that day, even those who are not members of the Men's Club. This is a fun event, as shown in the attached picture. We would love to have new residents or recently retired golfers join the Sun Lakes Men's Club. The dues are $70 ($34 goes towards men's club dues and $36 pays for maintaining your S.C.G.A. / GHIN handicap). We have a tournament on the third Friday of the month followed by a catered lunch in the North Clubhouse. The tournament for the month of April is a Four-Man Scramble (computer generated teams). The Executive Men's Club meets on Friday mornings at 8:30 for a 9 am shotgun start. We also have a closest to the pin and circle hole contests every Friday. Membership is open to all Sun Lakes male residents and all levels of golfers are welcome. COME JOIN US! New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop or on the EMGC website. Saturday Morning Golf Are you still working and looking for a weekend golf option? Are you interested in sharpening your short game skills? Do you enjoy having a relaxed game of golf? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may wish to join our Saturday Morning Golf Group. We play on the Executive Course. Our membership includes men and women with a large range of handicaps. Our members share a love of the game. We have shotgun starts. Most of the year, October through June, the check in time is 8:30 am with a 9 am shotgun. In the summer, July through September, the check in time is 8 am with a 8:30 am shotgun. We hold monthly tournaments, an annual Club Championship competition, and quarterly dinners. Membership application forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual dues are only $15.
