| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2020 | 57 Sun Lakers & Friends There haven't been many changes since the last article, so this will be short and sweet. A reminder that our Sweeps will be on April 7, 2020 and our awards banquet is set for April 14 at the South Clubhouse. Teri will be providing more information on signing up in the weeks to come. A full article with the final stats will be in the May 2020 Lifestyles. A few more bowling puns to brighten your day: Bowling is a sport for people who have talent to spare. We are all bowlers trying to reach our goals, but once we've hit the correct pin the rest will come tumbling down. Until later… See you at the lanes! Sun Lakers at Canyon Lanes I had a short meeting with Dave last week about the lane conditions. He told me that we will be getting a new oil machine soon and the new Kagel Walker will not only put an even supply of oil on the lanes, but the new machine can put up to 200 different oil patterns which will be programmed into the machine. This machine is remote controlled and will do 12 lanes after the operator has set it in place on the first alley. Our old machines had to use water-based oil and that is why it evaporated quickly. The new Kagel will use heavier oil and the lanes will be much more consistent. Also, we are getting new monitors; they are twice the size of the old ones and will be much easier to read. Thank you Dave; you are spoiling us. As of week 24 we have two teams at the top of the leader board. In first place is Waters World with Rick Waters, Kathy Duerr, John Noonan and Tom Keheley. Just one half game back is Pin Pounders with Howard Esterson, Wanda Ranieri, Julie Rogers and a vacancy. Season High Scores for the Men: Mike Tocchini with a Handicap Series of 788, John Lyons with a Handicap Game of 336, Andy Toro with a Scratch Series of 749 and Tom Tykodi with a Scratch Game of 277. Season High Scores for the Women are: Gail Stormes with a Handicap Series of 758, Barbara Semic with a Handicap Game of 286, Pam Obry with a Scratch Series of 518 and Marlene Gartman with a Scratch Game of 200. Q. What is the seven pin in bowling called? A. Mother-in-law.
