24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2020 | The definition of stir crazy: psychologically disturbed, especially as a result of being confined or imprisoned. So… you say, "What has SASY been doing to keep a positive and productive activity going in their private and secluded surroundings? Glad you asked that question. With the help of Patty Jones, administrator of the SASY Telephone Exchange, we now have a way of calling everyone in the group at the same time and sharing the SASY Strength Training CD. Aha! We don't know how long this pandemic is going to last but we see it as an opportunity to cherish the connection with fellow team members. Don't lose heart. Nothing is gained by secluding yourself to the point where sad thoughts take over. So, when this is all over, we hope that none of us will forget "what we didn't have" (hopefully) for a little while. Keep active and happy. If you don't strength train now, come join the fun. We are a very social group. We enjoy this time together and laughter abounds in the class and in the Bistro (coffee break). By the way – we are a free class! We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 am in The Lodge Ballroom. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112), Char Weakley (926-2599), or Joyce Kerns (325-8840). Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) Come join us for Zumba, Zumba! COVID-19 has changed life as we know it, but also taught us some lessons on what we value. I know it has shown me how special my classmates and the class itself are to me. At this writing, it's impossible to know what May will bring, but just know that as soon as we have the "okay," class will resume – be that May 1 or later. Looking forward to seeing all of you. Hope you all remain safe and healthy. Whenever we resume, the class and schedule will be the same. The class consists of eight different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" dvds. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the dvds incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome! We meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:45 to 8:45 am in The Lodge Ballroom. CLASS IS FREE! For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (316) 260-0847. Join us for the Cardio & Strength Class taught by Certified Instructor Shannon Ramsey. This class is the perfect way to work on strength, balance and endurance! We use exercise bands and one, two, or three-pound weights to increase our strength and balance, while simple step routines to perfectly choreographed music help build our cardio endurance. Best part… it's completely modifiable to a chair routine so you can work at your own ability level. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, & time.
