Computer Group
Over the past few years, we in the 'computer world' have used Zoom when accommodating
guest speakers and presenters.
Now, many members of our Four Seasons Computer Group are either familiar with Zoom
or are growing more familiar with it as the pandemic continues and a need for 'virtual'
meetings, conferences, celebrations, and entertainment becomes more commonplace.
With that in mind and considering the fact that a growing number of people are using
Zoom simply to stay in touch with friends and family, my June presentation demonstrated
how to either set up and/or join a Zoom meeting.
I explained the features of Zoom as employed using a PC, an iPad, or smartphone.
Additionally, I presented a video with helpful tips (such as camera placement, lighting, and
background) that you will want to apply in your Zoom experience.
Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am. Zoom in! Or, if you
have questions, contact Larry Workman at workman.larry@gmail.com. ~ Larry Workman
Through monthly teleconferencing and weekly radio
network check-ins, our club continues to make progress
in support of the residents of the community. During
our last Zoom meeting, President Pete Hersey led us
through the structure of a revised emergency response
plan and members discussed alternatives to limitations
we might face on the availability of our radio room
equipment during a disaster. If you are interested in the
club, radio communications, or our role in emergency
response, let us know and we will answer any questions
you may have. We conduct weekly radio networks on
Wednesdays at 5:15 pm for the no-license-required
Family Radio Service (FRS), at 5:30 pm for Amateur
Radio VHF (2 meters) as well as our meeting (via
Zoom) on the last Friday of each month at 10 am. ~ Jim
Peterson, jim.k6jwp@gmail.com.
