50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2020 We still have a long way to go but it's great to see things slowly getting back to normal as the COVID-19 virus seems to be waning. Pickleball is now allowing mixed doubles as well as singles without the use of masks. Six feet social distancing is still required. At this time, guests are prohibited from playing on the courts. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who have volunteered to make masks for our community. That gesture alone put many people at ease and gave them a sense of community caring. I would also like to thank Tracy and all the people who help with the recycling. It takes a lot of effort to sort, load, and turn in the recycling. This month their efforts paid off. They collected almost $200 from recycling. And lastly, many thanks to our Pickleball committee, Nancy, LynnRae, Jesse, Irma, Lydia, and Karen, for their tireless work. Our dedicated committee keeps our group unique by planning activities, parties, fundraising, pickleball drills, equipment and keeping up on the latest COVID-19 recommendations. Come join us and you will have the best time ever. Have a safe and fun Fourth of July! ~ Yundell Montalbo-Linton Yundell@aol.com Pickleball Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. The last two months has been a difficult time for most of us in Four Seasons, with the fear of the COVID-19 in our minds. All the group activities were closed and we were resigned to staying home. When the courts were opened at end of May, it came with a list of conditions that made playing very trying, especially the condition that we needed to wear a mask. Players trickled back to the courts and in early June we had about 50 percent of our players back. Due to the distancing rule in place there was no socializing and the court benches were roped off. Some of our more cautious players are still waiting until they feel that it's the right time. However for me, I played a couple of times and it felt good and safe. We are playing in an open court with the closest player about 10 feet away so I felt safer than going to the supermarket. Hope to see everyone back on the courts soon. We are now back to our summer play schedule which is from 5 to 7 pm. We play every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
