| OHCC LIVING | JULY 2020 | 31 Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time. There is still no word on when the Clubhouse might open, but the renovations should be done by mid-June. The design team is working on a "reveal plan" and AV has offered to create some video, so after months of mystery we may soon be able to see the results, if not actually experience them. However, the plan has always been to delay work on the Billiard Room until a second phase, so we do not expect to see any changes to our room. Your Billiard Club Board has no facts to offer you yet, but feels we owe you our "best guess," so here it is as of early June. We expect a "slow opening" for the Billiard Room when the Clubhouse does open. If that turns out to mean restrictions similar to those now placed on restaurants and racquet sports, your Billiard Club Board believes that might mean: 1. Use only the three most widely spaced tables at a time (numbers 1, 3, and 5). 2. Limit of three players per table. 3. Masks required. 4. Reservations required. 5. Perhaps a special time when only Snooker could be played. 6. All doors open. What to do in the meantime? Two ideas: looks for a cue and watch some videos. First, why not get your own cue and start practicing that smooth stroke you've always wanted? Do you want the same old cue everyone has, or would you like something special? If so, you can consider these! Or have some fun cruising the Internet looking for other appealing cues. Second, jump on YouTube and start searching. Once you find and watch a good pool video, YouTube will magically line up another 50 (or 100) similar videos and you can sink hours, indeed entire days, and watching amazing stuff. Remember to drink. And eat. If you are able to disentangle yourself from the clutches of YouTube, we hope to be able to see you back in the Billiard Room soon!
