| OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2020 | 37 Dear Aerobics Club Members, Hello to all of my amazing students! There are no words to express how much I miss each and every one of you. Ocean Hills is really my whole life when it comes to my work, and I have felt a huge void since we have been unable to get together and exercise. I miss your positive energy and the joy that you bring to my life. And I can't wait to get back to work whenever we are given permission to resume our classes. All is well with the Alesiani household. Renato is working from home, and Lorenzo is home working on an online research project for UCI. Romeo is a very happy dog because he is never alone anymore. He ate two pounds of smoked salmon that he stole from the kitchen counter… so naughty! The kitties are indifferently fine. I am staying fit and healthy so that I can be ready to return to Ocean Hills classes on a moment's notice. Please know how much I care about all of you, and I can't wait to see you. In the meantime, I hope that you have found socially distanced routines to get some exercise to keep your bodies, minds, and hearts healthy. Don't forget to exercise by taking a walk around the neighborhood or using a YouTube video. Since we cannot meet in person during this time in the OHCC Clubhouse due to COVID-19, here are two suggestions for you to exercise at your home with our very own Ocean Hills Senior Fitness instructors Cheryl Todd and Tatis Cervantes-Aiken. It is free and all you need is a sturdy chair. These are Chair Yoga exercises that last approximately one hour each. When the Clubhouse opens we'll meet again. Instructions: Go to the URL line on your computer. Type in YOUTUBE.COM/HARMONYGROVEYOGA and you will get a video with Cheryl Todd teaching the Chair yoga class. Just follow her example using a sturdy chair. Go to the URL line on your computer. Type in TATISCERVANTES and you will see her Lively Chair Yoga Class with Tatis Cervantes- Aiken. Sit in your sturdy chair and start the chair yoga exercise. It is as easy as that. Senior Fitness Club Tai Chi Hello Tai Chi friends… Please check the weekly Clubhouse schedule before coming to class as the regular room may be changed due to the construction in the Clubhouse. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. God bless! ~ Lai Mei Ladies and Gents please join this FREE growing class on each Wednesday and Friday at 9 am. We follow along video presentations by a certified instructor that are designed to help improve strength, stability, and balance. We mostly sit on chairs. Bring one weight of your choice. Please consult the weekly-schedule pamphlet at the front desk for room location or ask the receptionist as our room assignments change. Thank you and we hope to see you! Stretch & Balance Morning exercise An exercise class is held on Mondays and Fridays, 8 to 9 am in Abravanel Hall. Attendees bring a floor mat and light hand weights for this moderate head-to-toe workout. June Cooper has led this class for many years and does a wonderful job! Come join us. It is free. Just in case: Check with your club contact to confirm meeting place, date, and time.
