10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | AUGUST 2020
By Theresa Rossetti, Resident
It's easy enough to see what our neighbors have in their front yards. But do you have any
idea what is hiding, lurking even, in some backyards?!?
Little did we know on New Year's Day what this year was going to bring us. If anyone had
"hunting for yeast and flour, vegetables, paper goods, etc." on their Bingo card for the year I
applaud your ability to see into the future.
Some neighbors were already ahead of the game in the fruits and veggies issue. Others
jumped on the bandwagon and started or expanded what they already were doing.
Sending out a post on the SDV Facebook page led me to a number of people who are
taking the idea of growing their own food to impressive heights. My 2020 Mr. Green Jeans
Award goes to Bob Vise for his absolutely awesome fruit and veggie growing skills. With
apologies to all the gardeners who didn't see my post or send pictures, take a look at some
pictures from (in alphabetical order) the Cates, Frank, Vise and Yang backyards.
